Okay, seriously, why does this look like it comes from a Paramount+ Kids limited series? Didn't Sony see the sales numbers of Lego Horizon Adventures? Kids don't care about Horizon!

Straight facts: Horizon: Monster Hunter is a slam-dunk idea. But leave it to a major corporation to completely fumble the ball. I mean, if the game involved fighting the high-fidelity monsters we get from the original game, then crafting weapons and armor out of their robot remains, which is totally in-character for Horizon, that would be cool.

But instead it's an Apex-Aping Atrocity with set characters and anime nonsense that doesn't fit in with Horizon. When you say "Horizon Monster Hunter" to folks who enjoyed the original games, I bet they, like me, would imagine something grounded and crunchy, not whatever this is.

Could they just not get the rights to Gachiakuta, or something?

So I'm recording my Zeta videos right now. It's taking a while because Zeta has like almost 50 suits in it that haven't been featured elsewhere, but in my Zeta video I will comment on how I don't think Kamille Bidan is a good fit for the protagonist of Zeta's intended story.

I am aware of the Define manga. And I feel that, in trying to fix Kamille as a character, it over-corrects pretty hideously. We're talking "Greedo Shot First" level revisionism that turns Kamille into a total saint with no poor impulse control or anything. It really does not solve my problems with Kamille the way I'm sure it thinks it does.

And I literally mean the "Greedo Shot First" part. In the original, the bratty Kamille punches Jerid Messa for making fun of his name, a bad decision with lingering consequences. In the Define manga, Jerid takes a swing at Kamille after making fun of Commander Bright. It is THAT severe an over-correction.

For the Record: The MS-07b is not the "Goof". THIS is a Goof.

The English Dub of the OG Gundam pronounces it "Guff". I will therefore pronounce it "Guff". If people keep insisting I pronounce it as "Goof", all future Gouf reviews will be done in my Goofy impression. And my Goofy impression is unnerving.

This is not a threat. It is a promise.

Had a small epiphany:

How to fix the Gundam Atlas:

Step 1: Rename it the "Gundam Argo".
If we're going for Greek Mythology, why isn't the gold-trimmed suit who turns into a boat named after the Argo? Honestly, I wonder if that was the original intention. I mean, I know "Atlas = Strong", but the story of the Argo is one of boldly going forth on the open ocean, a story so epic that "Hercules was on it" is a footnote.

Also, the Argo was a BOAT. as in SOMETHING AQUATIC. A vessel of daring do that was also literally made for water travel.

And the story of this suit is that it travels on a somewhat foolish mission to a strange land to recover a golden relic, in this case a repainted Psycho Zaku.

The more I ponder, the more this thing becomes the "Gundam Argo" in my mind.
