The FBI has accused a Louisiana resident of participating in the Hamas-led attack on Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, then lying about his past and fraudulently obtaining a visa to live in the U.S.

According to an FBI criminal complaint unsealed this week, Mahmoud Amin Ya'qub Al-Muhtadi armed himself and gathered a group to cross from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel during the attack that left more than 1,200 people dead.

Louisiana may soon join a growing list of states allowing residents to buy lottery tickets online.

During a legislative meeting on Tuesday, the Louisiana Lottery Corporation presented projections showing that online lottery sales could generate more than $150 million in revenue over the next five years.

Lottery President and CEO Rose Hudson told lawmakers that the change could also mean a boost for Louisiana’s public schools, which have already received nearly $5 billion in lottery revenue since the corporation was established.

Hundreds of Starbucks locations are closing, including several in New Orleans.


The Seattle-based coffee giant said store closures would start immediately. The company wouldn't give an exact number of stores that are closing, but the bulk of the closures appear to be in the U.S. and Canada.



Starbucks has not yet publicly shared a store closing list. The company said the Starbucks app will be updated by Sunday with up-to-date hours of operation, including closures.
