Braxton Haugen is an American filmmaker, writer, and artist. He was born in Springfield, Oregon, in 2000 and began making films early in life. He briefly attended the University of Oregon to study journalism before leaving to pursue filmmaking independently. As a teenager, his two volumes of short films, The Home Movies, were recognized at several international festivals, including the Long Story Short International Film Festival, Short to the Point, and BendFilm, where he received the Future Filmmaker Award. In 2022, Haugen moved to Los Angeles, where he collaborated with Van Neistat on The Spirited Man. His written work includes four collections of visual writings, encompassing a wide range of mediums and forms—including short stories, poetry, and sketches. He is currently based in London and is producing a new series of short films.
