My story started in a small town in Northern California. As soon as I could ride a bike at age 5 I was off -- until the streetlights came on.
Life has been an amazing journey ever since and it's time to share my passion for the open road. My shorts and stories and trips all come from a love of discovery and curiosity. The same road can offer different rewards depending on so many things - our mood - the time of day - and of course, the reason for our trip. As Steinbeck said "the dyed-in-the-wool bum does not need a reason to hit the road, he has a garden of reasons to choose from." Amen.
I am also a filmmaker (30 Bikes: The Story of Homestead Bicycles), Children's book illustrator (Elmer in Yosemite), self-taught photographer (www.aldenolmsted.com), and in another life maybe a landscape architect like FLO. Roots run deep.
