Yesterday we did something together with this amazing community that wowed me beyond words. We set out to raise $3,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society and we raised $13,000.00 instead in a single day. We chose to have a charity live stream in support of the Canadian Cancer Society as this year I lost a family member to cancer. He had been diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2024 and fought passed the 6-month first estimation with support from the caregivers and staff at BC Cancer. Unfortunately, I lost this person whom I loved and respected dearly in the first quarter of 2025. Play On and this community has been here to support me through one of the most challenging things I have ever been through and it was with Play On and this community that we were able to do something incredible together in the fight against cancer. To everyone involved, to all of our viewers, and to everyone has dealt with or is dealing with cancer right now I believe yesterday shows we are in this together and we are all loved and supported. Tomorrow (sept 11th) at 12:30 PM PST / 3:30 PM EST our Studio Match Play League returns with season 2! Our inaugural game sees the T'au face off against the Black Templar. One wrinkle were introducing this season is that a player can play any army they want HOWEVER they can never play the same detachment twice.

Six players - 30 games - 1 winner.

Will Play On Tabletop be doing any Warhammer The Horus Heresy content? Yes. We have entered into a new paradigm with having a new painter team and wanting to give them time to do amazing work which we feel makes our battles better. This means that production times are longer. We are motivated to give you the most immersive and visually stunning battles on the tabletop.

Our aim is to have a battle within the new Horus Heresy available for early August.

Here is a bit of behind-the-scenes...
When we rushed projects we would be painting armies in a week or less time, and then editing a video in 4-5 days. This represented long days and sometimes all nighters. A typical timeline is 2 weeks to paint, 2 days for production, and then 2 to 3 weeks for post-production.

We aim to release a new 40k in 40m every week and sometimes more and this won't change. We will try to cover as many new releases as possible when our schedule allows. We aim to continue to bring you amazing tabletop content on a consistent basis. Play On!

PS: The team built and painted a new Horus Heresy army in two weeks and that is still impressive.

Dear Dark Expansionists! You helped us do more content by supporting our drive to get more models and get them painted to a new standard. We are soon going to be in production of the Dark Expansion mini-series and we now really need your names! Many of you have already submitted your champion but we have a few stragglers we hope to hear from.

For those of you that have purchased a Tier that allowed you to name a model, we are cutting off model naming submissions on July 15 2025. Mubin has sent you an email with a link to name your model to the email that was used at checkout. Please provide your submissions ASAP and if you have already named your miniature, look forward to seeing it this fall during the Dark Expansion!
