The rumour started on X/Twitter on 24 November 2025 even saying that Chris Tucker will have a role. The photo shown on that X account was originally posted by Chris Tucker on Jackie's birthday in 2019. The first image of Jackie Chan is AI generated.

This fake news post made use of current headlines like the Warner Bros bidding war between Paramount and Netflix, latest RUSH HOUR 4 talks, and Zhao's upcoming new book.

Zhao himself debunked the "news" the same day. Be careful who you follow online!
