Yoga On The Road

I empower new yogis to explore their physical and mental potential and take charge of their own practice.

This space and the resources here are about supporting a yoga journey that makes your experience more accessible, sustainable and curious even - to your unique self.

I have specialised in supporting women over 40 in building their own home yoga practice.

Join this community if you:

😮‍💨 Have attempted to establish a home yoga practice but haven't succeeded
😮‍💨 Are fed up with waking up feeling stiff and sore every day
😮‍💨 Want to prioritise yourself and restore your confidence and self-esteem

I can't wait to see you on the other side!

Love and light, always.

Yoga On The Road

Is downward dog one of those love-hate relationships for you?

My first experience with Downward Dog was practicing alongside an instructional DVD (a Gen X thing). In the moment, I remember thinking, while upside down and straining, if this is yoga, it’s probably going to be very short-lived.

Implying it’s a restorative pose, especially to a beginner, is likely because your instructor has forgotten their own challenges.

My hands ached from gripping, my shoulders tensed uncomfortably from supporting my weight, and my entire body inwardly screamed expletives. It took me a long time to lovingly embrace this pose.

With this kind of motivation, I’ve created a four-part tutorial (lifetime access for $97), which is intended to walk you through the challenging elements of the pose. I’ve combined it with some flow elements also.

The tutorials teach various adjustments, modifications, and playful ways to practice so you can create an experience that feels comfortable in your body.

My hope for you in this self-paced series is that you find some consistency in your practice and learning and build much more confidence to allow you some diversity in the way that you practice yoga.

May your practice be filled with ‘loving kindness’, curiosity, and playfulness 🙏

Yoga On The Road

As we approach the end of another lightning-speed year, I want to reflect on my journey and our journey together.

It’s been a year filled with growth, learning, and community, and I am so grateful to each of you who has joined me along the way–in whatever capacity.

In 2024, we’ve shared:

👉 65 Classes: These classes are about advocacy of our beginner community; each session became an opportunity to explore more about your life-enhancing breath, deepening your asana practice, and learning the value of yogic rest and the all-important skill of being present.

👉 29 Private Lessons: More specifically how we can support your personalised goals and allow you to explore yoga from the place where you begin. Sometimes this is movement and shifting stagnation in the body and other times it is providing tools to deepen and develop mindfulness to help you balance life.

👉 107 Hours of Learning: Together we’ve dedicated an impressive amount of time to developing our practice of yoga. All the while this means we are deepening our practice and developing our knowledge.

👉 405 Live Students: These students have walked through our doors maybe once or many times over and have helped to create a fun and engaging environment where everyone feels welcome, and encourages you to be curious and to learn from your experience and each other.

👉 38 Online classes: These sessions have helped support neurodiversity through yoga, by developing a toolkit of resources to build more capacity for focus and attention, to build self and body awareness to help with emotional regulation, and to reduce anxiety and stress.

👉 110 Email subscribers: It has been exciting watching this community grow with more and more like-minded people seeking connection with others. This community is my authentic social media connection and I love that I get to write about stuff here relating to yoga and life.

👉 51 Emails Sent: This year we committed to writing a weekly newsletter to share yoga tips, asana practices, helpful resources, and life contemplations along the way. I hope that next year, we will continue to see this area gain momentum. There are lots of goodies in the pipeline

👉 60 YouTube Subscribers: This medium has been my “Finding Your Edge” challenge. I've needed to push myself a bit more proactively here and it has forced me to really look at my own comfort zone.

👉 61 YouTube Videos: I am amazed at this and am deeply grateful for the motivational push that I have needed to get to this point.

As we wrap up this year I encourage you to take a moment to celebrate your own achievements, no matter how big or small. I hope you carry this momentum into 2025, where even more exciting classes and experiences await.

For us, at Yoga On The Road, we’re launching a new membership option - I know, right? Exciting, isn't it? - If you want to know more about it, express your interest here in the comments and we will send you a link to be added to our waitlist.

With Love and Light Always
Anita
