The Tesla Model Y was the world's best-selling passenger vehicle in 2023 (JATO Dynamics: ~1.22 million units, first EV to claim the title). It remained #1 in 2024 per some sources (Statista/Focus2Move claims), though JATO showed a razor-thin loss to the Toyota RAV4 (~1.185M vs 1.187M). Focus2Move data lists Model Y back on top for 2025, making it three straight years at or near the global summit while beating or nearly matching the long-dominant RAV4.
