Billions of taxpayers’ dollars spent on so-called “state-of-the-art” hospitals, complete with fancy ribbon-cutting ceremonies — yet when a life was on the line, the system FAILED.
An elderly gentleman arrived at the Diamond Regional Hospital Emergency Department with vomiting, dizziness, impaired eye movement, and dangerously high blood pressure and blood sugar. ⏱️ He waited OVER TWO HOURS without receiving ANY treatment.
Other patients who arrived as early as 8:00 a.m. were also left waiting.
Family members were later told there were ONLY TWO NURSES on duty in the Emergency Department.
Fearing the worst, the family was forced to transfer him to Georgetown Public Hospital for urgent care.
The We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party has strongly condemned what it calls another example of a “Shell Hospital” — big buildings, big budgets, but no staff, no systems, no care.
WIN is calling on Frank Anthony to: ✔️ Properly staff our hospitals ✔️ Improve salaries & working conditions for healthcare workers ✔️ Treat our nurses and doctors with the respect they deserve
