Me and Ren have had two songs in the Top 10 trending on YouTube Music and Video charts in the last two weeks. Two for two. Both tracks off the new EP have gone up there on their own steam. No LABEL & no marketing! No MACHINE behind it. Just music && the people!!!!
And I’ll be honest with you, I think it’s shameful that not one major music outlet has covered it. Not NME, not Rolling Stone UK, not Clash, not any of the ones that pretend to “champion new music.” They don’t. They champion safe bets. Industry-backed acts. They write about who they’re told to write about, and if you don’t have money or a label pushing you, you don’t exist to them. That’s the truth.
They talk about supporting independents but it’s all talk. The second something real breaks through, they look away. Why? Because no one’s paying them. Because the PR invoices aren’t being signed. Because the gatekeepers are terrified of anything that doesn’t fit neatly into their mould.
But this is what they can’t stop. The youtube reaction community. The people online who actually care about music. The YouTube channels, the small blogs, the listeners spreading this to their mates. You’re the ones doing the real work. No one’s paying you. You’re doing it because it moves you. Because it’s real. Because you give a fuck.
And that’s what this whole thing is about. REALL music made by REAL people, cutting through all the fake noise. This collab between me and Ren wouldn’t exist in the major label world. It wouldn’t be allowed. It’s too honest, too raw, too unpredictable. That’s exactly why people feel it.

YO i've been making songs for YEARS man, on bedroom floors around London, in freezing rooms with shit DIY recording setups in the corner of the room. Old cassette recorder 4 tracks, knackered mics, bits of gear held together with tape. I didn’t know what I was doing, just trying to make something that felt proper
and i allways felt like I didn’t fit anywhere either, i had too many musical influences flying about my head. One day I’m into indie, next it’s drum and bass, then soul, ska, hip hop, whatever. I never knew what lane I was meant to sit in so I never could fit in with any "scene" as much as i tried.. and i felt sort of like there was something wrong with me and that i just didnt work.
Then.... working with Ren sort of flipped a switch for me. He’s shown it’s OK to just say fuck a genre and do what you want. That’s exactly how this tune happened. I just made what I wanted, sent it over to him, and we ran with it. No rules just PURE vibes
Control Alt Delete is what happens when a couple of independent artists from different worlds make something honest with no one in their ear telling them what’s allowed. And somehow it just works
I’m proud of this one, proper proud. It means something. And the support from everyone’s been mad already, so thank you for that
And you know what, fuck the music industry for never backing artists like us. For pretending they care about new sounds but never taking risks. For missing what’s really happening right in front of them. We don’t need them. We’ve got each other, the music, and this community. That’s enough. Let’s keep proving them wrong

Tonight feels like a BIG moment, man. the second song from me and @RenMakesMusic EP drops and I don’t say this lightly,, I REALLY think we’re pushing music forward right now.
I’ve been doing this music for years & YEARS, WORKING, getting knocked back, getting ignored, getting fucked over by the music game more times than I can count. But somehow I’ve never lost that spark to chase what i KNEW was possible. And what me and REN are doing,, it’s that. It’s REAL. 100% INDEPENDENT. NO labels. NO genre rules. No one telling us how to sound. Just music with SOUL && grit, and pure FREEDOM.
I spoke to a major label yesterday. They asked what I wanted. I just said,, if I signed with you, wouldn’t that make everything I’ve built pointless? Wouldn’t I be selling my soul to the dark side? (I literally said this) They didn’t have a good answer. And that told me everything.
What we’ve got here.. this community, this movement.. it’s VERY special. The SB Family energy right now is UNREAL. You can feel it in the air. We’re proving you don’t need the system. You just need belief, connection, and people who actually give a fuck about real music.
So tonight at 8pm!!! the youtube premiere goes live. Let’s all be there, let’s blow the chat up, let’s show the world what independent music can do.

Last night’s live stream had over 1,600 people in there at one point. I can’t lie.. I was sat there just trying to take it in. The comments,, the LOVE, the ENERGYY... it’s been unreal. Every message and EVERY person commenting or being KIND means more than you know. so thankyou!!!
It’s taken over 10 years to get to this point (as i've said before). A lot of dark days, a lot of work, a lot of times wondering if it’d ever break through. Then out of nowhere, one simple DM (last year) from Ren asking to collab did everything no label could, and help bring some AMAZING people around us and our music <3
I’ve got mad imposter syndrome half the time, but right now I’m just grateful. Grateful for everyone coming on board... new fans, old fans, all ages. This community means everything to me!!

It’s taken me over ten years to get to this point.. Ten years of running round London trying to make music with nothing but belief.. Not talking about some university degree music thing.. I mean working shit jobs all week, coming home knackered, sitting on my floor writing songs. Didn’t know anyone in London. No contacts or help.. I just wanted to make something happen
I’ve had a few managers over the years.. proper industry ones too.. and every single one of them ended up doing me dirty. Either took money, stopped believing, or tried to turn me into something I’m not. That stuff toughens you up though.. taught me what’s real and what’s not
Then last year, out of nowhere, Ren messaged me. Just said, “Yo, your tunes are sick, let’s make something.” That was it. No label talk & no BULLSHYTE.. just two artists doing it for the love of it. And that’s how this whole thing started
Now the first tune from our EP’s just dropped.. and it’s already on nearly 350,000 views in a day on YouTube. Honestly, it’s surreal.. after everything that’s happened over the years, to see people connecting like this means a lot.
Big up Ren every single time for believing in me and putting me on to a wider audience. Big up his fanbase too.. AMAZING people. And of course, big up the SB Family.. you guys have had my back always and I’ll never forget that.
This whole collab was built on honesty and respect man,, No games or fake hype.. just the MUSIC And that’s how I want to keep it moving. Hopefully one day I can do for someone else what Ren did for me!
