Apple's exploration into the realm of foldable devices appears to be starting, with recent reports indicating that the tech giant is actively developing a foldable MacBook. Ming-Chi Kuo, a prominent analyst known for his accurate predictions about Apple's future products, has revealed that the company is working on a 20.3-inch foldable MacBook, with plans for a potential launch in 2027.
On Tuesday morning, many social media sites stopped working. YouTube said that some people can't watch videos right now. Other sites like Discord, Threads (by Meta), Facebook, and Instagram are also not working. Google mentioned that people might see a blank home page, get error messages, see spinning wheels on Shorts while scrolling, or find no more videos to watch on the endless Shorts feed."Rest assured we're working on a fix now!" the post says.
Google Pixel is set to introduce a Satellite SOS feature, enabling emergency contact without cellular or Wi-Fi. Spotted in the Safety & emergency settings, this addition follows Apple's lead with the iPhone 14.
Currently inactive, it promises to share crucial user data with emergency services via satellite. Initially seen on the Pixel 8, the feature hints at broader Android flagship adoption, including detailed emergency support and international coverage.
The Google Pixel 8 series was crowned as the best smartphone of 2023 at MWC.
This flagship series earned the award for its exceptional performance, innovation, and leadership. Pixel 8 surpassed other nominees, including the iPhone 15 Pro series and Samsung Galaxy S23 series, to claim the top spot.
Facebook will remove its News tab in the US and Australia in April 2024, and stop paying publishers for news content. Facebook says news makes up less than 3 percent of what people see on its platform, and it will focus more on short form video and the Creator economy. Facebookâs news licensing deals with outlets like CNN, the New York Times, and Sky News Australia will end, and publishers will have to rely on other products and ads to drive traffic to their websites.
Microsoft has introduced a new tool for game makers that makes it easier to use advanced technology to make games look better without needing more power from your computer. This tool, called DirectSR, acts like a bridge that connects games to different companies' technology (like Nvidia, AMD, and Intel) that makes game graphics sharper and clearer. The idea is that game developers can now work with this one tool instead of using different methods for each company's technology, making it simpler and more efficient for them to improve game visuals across various types of computers and devices.
Humane AI Pin was recently showcased at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in its first public viewing since it was launched in November 2023 exclusively in the US. The artificial intelligence (AI)-powered device, with a unique form factor and no display panel, quickly gained global attention. And while other markets wait for the device to be launched, a new report suggests that the AI Pin could make its debut in India soon. Humane is the brainchild of Co-founders and ex-Apple employees Imran Chaudhri and his wife Bethany Bongiorno.
Google recently released its AI chatbot, Gemini, which is considered a strong competitor to OpenAIâs ChatGPT. Users have reported an eerie feeling when interacting with Gemini, describing it as if they were talking to a âghostâ. Despite Googleâs insistence that Gemini is not sentient, its human-like responses have led to debates about the nature of artificial intelligence. Ethan Mollick, a professor at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, described a âweirdnessâ to Gemini that isnât sentience, but also isnât like talking to a program. He referred to this as the illusion of a person on the other end of the line, even though there is nobody there.
He is hardly the first person to conclude an AI chatbot may be sentient, or something close to it. Google fired Blake Lemoine, an engineer working on its large language model LaMBDA, in 2022 after he claimed his companyâs AI was alive. Scientists were quick to deem Lemoine as crazy, but this idea that powerful chatbots are sentient just wonât go away. Gemini has been noted to have a different âpersonalityâ than ChatGPT, appearing to be friendlier, more agreeable, and using more wordplay.
The idea that powerful chatbots are sentient continues to persist, despite scientists and engineers, including those at Google, insisting that they are not.
