In this section of the Organon, Hahnemann sir continues explaining the natural law of cure.

§45 – Explanation of the phenomenon
A stronger similar disease extinguishes the weaker one because both affect the same parts of the organism.

§46 – Instances of chronic diseases being cured by the accidental excitation of another similar but stronger disease in nature
Examples like smallpox, cowpox and measles show how nature itself sometimes performs a homoeopathic cure.

§47–49 – When diseases meet in nature, only one displaying similar symptoms can remove and cure the other. A dissimilar disease can never do this.

From these observations, the physician learns what kind of medicine can certainly cure — namely, medicines acting according to the homoeopathic law of similars.

The physician’s mission is not to create so-called medical systems by combining empty speculations and theories about how life functions internally or how diseases arise in the unseen interior of the body—areas where many doctors have already wasted their time and abilities.

Nor is his mission to give endless explanations about disease symptoms or their supposed immediate causes, since such causes can never truly be known. These explanations are often presented in complicated and abstract language, made to sound highly learned and to impress others, while suffering humanity continues to wait in vain for real help.

We have already had more than enough of this kind of learned theorizing, known as theoretic medicine, for which even special academic positions exist. The time has now come for those who call themselves physicians to stop misleading suffering people with mere words and instead begin to act—meaning, to truly help and to cure.
