I had a LOT of people request a tutorial on how to start oil painting this past year, so to start out 2026 I thought it could be fun to do a video detailing my artistic process and how I make an oil painting from start to finish— including everything you need to do to make one yourself!

Oil painting is an AMAZING medium, and it’s one that’s often passed by because people are intimidated by the price, difficulty, or extreme time commitments that seem present in even “easy” painting tutorials.

So like… why isn’t there a tutorial that’s “Oil painting for those who are broke, impatient, and not super skilled artistically, but still really want to paint an awesome picture”?

No seriously… WHY? 🤷🏻‍♀️
