*The Message of Eid*
On Eid day, the month long divine workshop of Ramadan comes to an end and with it the prescribed restrictions are lifted. The day of Eid is a day of thanking God on being relieved of these restrictions. The takbirs (Allahu Akbar) said aloud in the Eid prayers are an expression of this thankfulness.
While Ramadan itself was a month of showing gratitude to the Almighty on receiving the treasure of Qur'an from him, the day of Eid is a day of showing gratitude to him for passing through the test of Ramadan. It is a day of joy and happiness, a day which is the reward of the patience shown in the past month.
That is why the holy Prophet (pbuh) is reported to have said that there are two instances of happiness for a believer: one at the time of breaking the fast and the other at the time of meeting his creator! Both are the result of patiently enduring the restrictions imposed on us.
And for the rest of the year, let us try to keep alive in us the spirit kindled in this blessed month!
*Farewell Ramadan! Welcome Eid!*

*The Power of One*
At times we are too shy to take the initiative and too timid to take the first step. But experience shows that once a person is bold enough to break the ice, several people stand up by his or her side. These people are the silent majority who are silent because they need a forceful first voice. They do not have the guts and courage to speak out or take action unless they find someone taking the lead.
Such then is the power of one voice, one step, one initiative – one person. When the right time arrives, a single person can move mountains.
Remember, you can be that person!
