Rebirth isn’t starting over. It’s choosing to own your career.
Hi, I’m Jayme Edwards.
After 20 years as a developer, architect, and consultant, I began working for myself in 2017. I started coaching other developers on their career.
Along the way, I learned something that changed how I work. It was easier to make money charging for outcomes than for hours.
So after coaching over 150 developers on their career, I decided to show them how to do this too. Experienced developers don't need more skills. They need more leverage.
On this channel, I share the systems I'm using to help experienced developers create a Technical Guide Offer. A repeatable, high-value service that helps companies who are getting ready to do something you already have over your career.
I also share how my faith in Jesus Christ helped me recover from addiction so I can serve the tech industry—instead of trying to escape it.
My previous channel was Healthy Developer.

Health update: I herniated/bulged a disc in my spine about a month and a half ago, and have been spending most of my day on my stomach with my face in a pillow. I've been seeing a physical therapist for about a month with it only making things worse. My next step is an MRI.
Friends and family have been donating some to support us, since it came at a bad time financially when I was between workshops. My wife's looking for a new job, and luckily my current clients who've been working with me to become technical guide consultants, have been totally supportive and understanding.
Anyway, just wanted to say thank you to everyone with interest in the channel and explain why I've been absent. I'll be posting again when I'm back to health. Thanks!

When you start wanting more freedom, income, or control, the developer community often turns on you. I know—because it happened to me.
In this episode on I talk to you directly about the unspoken pressure inside tech culture that keeps developers chained to corporate life.
Avoid negativity, outrage-driven content, and peer shaming that subtly train you to stay put, stay small, and stay dependent on employers who will never teach you how to outgrow them.

Want to go solo as a developer? Then you've got to take the credit for the amazing impact you have—publicly.
In this episode I share how having a personal brand as a consultant, is NOT about being an influencer or posting "hot takes".
It's about reducing risk for your client, so you make it easier for them to trust and do business with you.

💻 Tired of renting your dev career to corporations who don't respect you?

Being an employee doesn't reward creativity and hard work—it's about proving your obedience until they don't need you anymore. Most developers cope with this by distracting themselves with new technology and frameworks. But deep down they know they're probably giving the best years of their career to a broken system.
But when you offer a solution for something many companies need, and position yourself as an expert—everything changes.
The 4-day Consulting Offer Workshop is where experienced developers finally stop being invisible, and pivot onto a career path that's actually worth investing in. You'll uncover the most valuable work you've done for a business. Then craft a unique consulting offer you can market and sell to companies as a business, not an employee.
This isn't a hack implying you'll get rich without doing any work. It's a realistic path to working with companies where they see you as a partner—not just a pair of hands. And it's for developers ready to take ownership over their career, by building a reputation for high-quality work that actually scales.
Inside the workshop, you'll:
• Identify business value you've created for companies over your career
• Choose an initial consulting offer to pursue
• Price your offer by value, not hours
• Package your offer so the value is clear to potential clients
• Get direct coaching from Jayme (host of this channel) live and over discord
If you want to finally start building a career you own this year, sign up for the third cohort which starts on January 12th, 2026:
