š§ Tell YOUR story about brain health through comics!
We are excited to share this free online mentoring programme that helps people create their own mini comics about brain health.
Over four months, participants will be supported to tell their personal story, explore ways to care for their brain, and learn how to reduce the risk of developing dementia.
You donāt need to have any experience making comics to join ā just a willingness to share and learn.
This opportunity is open to people living in the UK, and the organisers are especially encouraging applications from people from minority groups and those with lived experience of dementia.
Donāt forget! Our next Virtual Support Group session is tomorrow.
š Thursday, 10th April 2025
ā° 1 PM GMT | 2 PM WAT | 4 PM EAT
š Topic: Managing tremor, slowness, and stiffness
Join us as we share practical tips and personal experiences on managing some of the most common Parkinsonās symptoms. Your voice matters, and your presence makes a difference.
Please feel free to send any questions you have to info@parkinsonsafrica.org ahead of the session.
Parkinsonās may bring challenges, but it does not define you. Your courage, your laughter, your resilience, these are the things that truly matter. You are still you, and you are still capable of joy, purpose, and hope.
On the hard days, be kind to yourself. Rest when you need to, lean on those who care, and rememberāyour story is still unfolding, and there is so much more ahead.
Some days may feel harder than others, and thatās okay. What matters is that you are embracing each waking day with gratitude. Living with Parkinsonās means facing challenges, but every step forward, no matter how small, is progress.
You are stronger than you think. Keep showing up, keep pushing through, and never give up on yourself.
š“ Sleep is essential for overall well-being, yet many people with Parkinsonās experience sleep disturbances like insomnia, vivid dreams, and restless legs. Poor sleep can worsen symptoms, making daily life even more challenging.
This World Sleep Day, we highlight the impact of sleep on Parkinsonās and the importance of prioritizing rest. Developing healthy sleep habits, creating a relaxing bedtime routine, and making small lifestyle adjustments can improve the quality of sleep.
š¤ How do you ensure better sleep? Share your tips below.
Staying active with Parkinsonās isnāt always easy, but the right movement can make a world of difference. Join us as we share, learn, and support one another in our next Virtual Support Group meeting.
