Don’t compromise your standards. In China, even unqualified native speakers are being hired to teach not only kindergartens but also university students, sometimes without even holding a degree. At the same time, many non-native white candidates—whether European, Russian, or from other backgrounds—are still offered high pay and priority over more qualified professionals.

But if you hold a PhD as a brown Pakistani, Indian, Asian, or Black professional, why chase positions where recruiters and schools value appearance—white skin, blue eyes, blonde hair—over real qualifications?

We are not less than any white native person, and nothing makes them superior. We deserve to be treated equally on all grounds.

Choose work that respects your dignity and skills, instead of environments where opportunities and salaries are tied to skin color. Follow your passion and aim higher.

This is not about disliking individuals. I respect and value my white friends and colleagues. What I strongly disagree with is the recruiting system and agencies that keep this unfair practice alive.
