Working on "The Paperboy".
The beginning of Stranger Things (season 4), which I'm rewatching before starting season 5 gave me the idea to create a song about a paper boy, like the ones you see in some movies. I'm not sure yet how it will turn out. Lyrics aren't finished yet either. Possibly quite dark - maybe 70s folk noir or 80s dark wave. We'll see.
His father said: You’re old enough to earn something on your own.
A paper route, a bike, and streets he’s always known.
Just early mornings, almost night, easy money, just a job,
Tossing news, so harmless then - at least that’s what he thought.
So he takes the route to make his old man proud,
Not knowing quiet streets can feel way too loud.
