April’s color of the month is greige.
And listen… I adore this color.
It sits right at the intersection of grey and beige, which is probably why it works so well for me. I’ve always been a fan of grey, mauve, and soft pink tones, and greige lives right in that family. It’s grounded but still has warmth. Structured but not cold.
Historically, greige really came into its own in the early 2000s, especially in interiors and fashion, as people started moving away from stark minimalism. It became the answer to “all white everything” fatigue. Designers needed something neutral, but with depth. Something that felt modern but still lived-in.
And that’s exactly what greige does.
You see it everywhere once you start paying attention. In tailoring, in luxury basics, in nails, in red carpet moments where the goal is elegance without screaming for attention. It shows up in spaces that are meant to feel calm, elevated, and intentional.
What I love most about it is what it communicates.
Greige doesn’t try too hard. It signals confidence. It says, I don’t need to be loud to be seen. It creates space instead of taking it.
And on us? It’s effortless. It complements rather than competes. It lets the person wearing it be the moment.
That balance between softness and structure is why I keep coming back to it. Forget Pantone's color of the year, Cloud Dancer. Gimme greige!

March’s color of the month had to be teal.
I don’t even need to overthink this one. Teal has always had me in a chokehold. Every single time. It’s one of those colors that just does what it needs to do without asking for permission.
Historically, teal sits in that space between blue and green, which is interesting because both colors carry weight. Blue is tied to depth, trust, and stability. Green is tied to growth, renewal, and life. Teal holds both. It’s calm and powerful at the same time.
And visually? It’s everything.
It reminds me of peacock feathers. That richness, that dimension, that quiet confidence. It reminds me of Caribbean waters, that clear, almost unreal color that feels both grounding and expansive at the same time.
And let’s be honest… on skin of color? Teal doesn’t just sit, it *glows*. It reflects light in a way that feels intentional. It doesn’t wash us out, it honors us.
That’s why I keep coming back to it.
Not loud, not trying too hard, but impossible to ignore.
What’s a color that always has you in a chokehold?

When I think about the people I collaborated with through Airbnb.org, a few stand out for their brilliance. A few stand out for their heart. Yasmin was both. Check out the latest episode of Referred: bit.ly/4puJjvC

It’s been a long time coming — but Referred is finally here.
When I started this series, I wanted to create space to revisit the relationships and moments that shaped who I’ve become — the people who’ve challenged me, taught me, and reflected back what I most needed to see.
What's more, right now there is an urgency to lift individuals who are amazing within our community above all of the noise. This is my way of doing that.
In the debut episode, I sit down with my Libra sister and longtime collaborator, Whitney...
