My top 5 games of 2025 according to @PlayStation ... I feel like there were a couple bosses in particular that really drove up my @PlayKhazan playtime😅
Here's my @thegameawards vote card.. I think this is FINALLY the year a non-AAA wins GOTY and if I had to guess, @sandfallgames is going to win BIG with Clair Obsur 👏
After over 400 hours in GoT and 100+ hours in GoY, here's my take... 👇
It's hard to argue that Ghost of Yotei isn't a step up technically - aside from Horizon Forbidden West, it's probably the most beautiful open world that's ever been created. It's easy to get lost in the world and spend hours and hours just wandering around and finding new things to do.
The combat is 🔥 Maybe it didn't have quite as much depth as GoT, but there was a couple of new things (the ability to throw weapons & new weapon types) that I really liked. I wasn't a big fan of having to switch weapons, but you don't really have to do that as much in the late game.
But the overall story 😬 definitely not as strong as GoT. Don't get me wrong - I love a good revenge story... I also thought there was a decent amount of character development and a couple of the twists along the way genuinely surprised me and had me invested. Jin's story in GoT though was just on another level and there were some really interesting side quests/characters, which GoY didn't really have.
All in all, amazing game. Maybe not as strong as GoT, but that's an extremely high bar. Can't wait for them to add NG+ and maybe a DLC or two 😁🤞
Timing is everything when it comes to a successful game launch. Some pretty well regarded games released too close to MASSIVE launches and ended up getting buried... 💀
