Alright, let's do this.. which one is BETTER?!

After over 400 hours in GoT and 100+ hours in GoY, here's my take... 👇


It's hard to argue that Ghost of Yotei isn't a step up technically - aside from Horizon Forbidden West, it's probably the most beautiful open world that's ever been created. It's easy to get lost in the world and spend hours and hours just wandering around and finding new things to do.

The combat is 🔥 Maybe it didn't have quite as much depth as GoT, but there was a couple of new things (the ability to throw weapons & new weapon types) that I really liked. I wasn't a big fan of having to switch weapons, but you don't really have to do that as much in the late game.

But the overall story 😬 definitely not as strong as GoT.
Don't get me wrong - I love a good revenge story... I also thought there was a decent amount of character development and a couple of the twists along the way genuinely surprised me and had me invested. Jin's story in GoT though was just on another level and there were some really interesting side quests/characters, which GoY didn't really have.

All in all, amazing game. Maybe not as strong as GoT, but that's an extremely high bar. Can't wait for them to add NG+ and maybe a DLC or two 😁🤞

September is going to be INSANE 🤯 Which of these games are you MOST looking forward to??

Even with the surprise announcement of Silksong releasing on the same day, I think I'm going to stick with my original plan and cover Hell Is Us. It's going to be a smaller release for sure, especially now, but I feel like the combat has the potential for just a little bit more depth. I played through the demo (a couple times) and was pretty impressed. Excited to see what the full version has to offer.
