Hey everyone, it's been half a year since Mario Kart World released. For months I had plans to upload the music from the game, but it was just never the right time. I always thought that things were missing, like the preludes and outros. They didn't sound like actual soundtrack versions to me.
I kinda just stopped thinking about uploading them, until a glitch was found a few weeks ago. It involved disconnecting & reconnecting controllers when entering a race. When the glitch was active, the race was glitched. Some sounds wouldn't play and Lakitu couldn't pick you up. When Lakitu is infinitely respawning you, the game mutes all sound effects. With this glitch, I was finally able to record the preludes.
One thing was still lacking, that being the outros. It was said that the glitch didn't work in Knockout Tour, but that was until @MarioFanOne showed me that it was actually possible if you performed the glitch on the retry option, by purposely losing in the rally. We both set off to record the outros, this turned out to be pretty difficult however.
It took 50+ hours to record all the outros, the games has these "zones" (before the next track comes up) where the outro can play at any point in the song. So it took a long time to go out of bounds at the right time on every track, since a lot of RNG was involved.
Now with this out of the way, we have a full clean soundtrack of all the grand prix tracks in high quality, with their preludes, transitions and outros merged into complete medley versions. This is how a soundtrack should be, and I hope you guys are happy. I hope it was worth the wait. :)
This is insane, it has now surpassed the view count from the original Rainbow Road theme from Mario Kart Wii (985K views). I did not expect this to still be up at this time either.
Something else I would like to share which isn't related to this post is the music from Mario Kart World, since there is a bit of a situation going on. There have been a lot of people here on the platform that uploaded Mario Kart World Music already, like @WiiPlayz for example. I recently joined a group on SquidBoard who are currently making a Mario Kart World OST, however, we are missing 5 tracks for it to be complete. I will only upload all the songs when I have a complete soundtrack without sound effects. Here are the songs that are missing from the OST;
- Bowser Castle (Super Mario Kart)
- Bowser Castle (Mario Kart Super Circuit)
- Castle BGM (Super Mario World)
- Castle Theme (New Super Mario Bros.)
- Castle Theme (New Super Mario Bros. Wii)
These tracks are not possible to get without SFX. The reason for that is because Nintendo made it so that these 5 songs can only play in VS mode, and they only play as the 1st song in specific intermissions, meaning that there will always be SFX in them (like countdown, engine, crowd and bird noises). Putting them through several AI tools does not help either, and it just takes away parts of the song most of the time. All songs in the OST (269 total so far) are captured in lossless HQ with capture cards, I will share the soundtrack when it has been completed.
If any of you got any of these songs somewhere else besides VS mode, feel free to tell me in the comments so I can try and capture them.

(And sorry that I didn't upload anything else besides the Main Theme yet, I want the songs as high quality as possible and Switch 2 games can't be dumped yet so we have to record instead).
