Nostalgia Lookback

Welcome to Nostalgia Lookback.

This channel is about remembering what everyday life really felt like growing up in the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s — especially the freedom of being young in the 70s.

Using real vintage photos and memories, we revisit teen life before phones, social media, and constant supervision — when hanging out, cruising, backyard games, and simple moments shaped a generation.

If you grew up in these years, these videos will feel familiar. If you didn’t, they offer a window into a world that no longer exists.

This is a place for shared memories, conversation, and looking back — together.

Been going back through some of our older uploads and this one's one of my favorites — "What We Never Knew We'd Miss About the 1970s." If you haven't seen it yet (or forgot it existed 😅), it's worth a watch. https://youtu.be/Hvp8gwe43tg

She knew your name. Your family shopped there. And somehow, places like this just disappeared.

A brand-new look back at everyday life in the 1970s arrives Saturday at 4 p.m.

Do you think everyday life really felt happier in the 1970s?

Life certainly wasn’t perfect, but many people remember feeling less rushed, more connected, and more content with simple things.

What do you think made those years feel different?

50 years ago TODAY
July 4th, 1976 — the Bicentennial. The whole country turned red, white and blue for one summer. Parade floats like this one, flags painted on fire hydrants, those commemorative quarters we all saved (I bet some of you still have a few in a drawer).
If you were there, you remember — it didn't feel like just another Fourth of July.
So here's my question: Where were you on July 4th, 1976? Parade? Cookout? Watching the tall ships on TV? Tell me below — I'll be reading every one. 👇

Remember when fast-food places looked like this?
What was your go-to order back then?

That's me on the right in the yellow shirt, around 1976, down in my parents' basement. I can still hear that console TV warming up and feel that shag rug under my boots. We thought we were the coolest guys in town — clearly the furniture agreed.
This is why I make these videos. I didn't read about the 70s — I lived every day of it, and I want to keep those days alive for everyone who was there too.
So tell me — what did YOUR living room look like back then? Or better yet, the basement. Wood paneling? Shag carpet? I have a feeling I already know the answer. 😄
