IT DID IT! The bot actually did it without Bandcamp blacklisting my IP address, 10,000 mp3's downloaded ready for further processing.

The stream is currently still up so it can download another 500 to make up for the AI generated garbage, but yeah stoaked this worked. There was only 1 time in its 25+ days runtime where the internet went down which required a restart of the script, but it was able to continue no issues.

I have noticed that some genres didn't have enough songs in them to contiune generating videos, my code accounts for this but I couldn't test it (because I needed to run the stram for weeks to get an answer to if it worked). Thats why it stopped downloading in 5 songs chunks, mystery solved.

I plan on refining my code and finding a more efficient way of streaming again, this laptop has been working too hard to justify the electricity used, this was a bit of bruteforce way of getting something working.

I plan on making a couple of compliations of my favourite genres for upload to this channel so watch out for those. I'll also be releasing everything as a collection in either torrent or direct download form.

ausmusicbot is now ~69% through its 10,000 song run, still hasn't crashed somehow, which is insane to me as the code is spaghetti garbage.

Although, I will have to overrun to about 10,500 songs because there is a far amount of AI-gened bullshit that should never have been uploaded in the first place that I will need to eliminate by hand...

Number of MP3 files: 6937 (something fucked up here, it should be in 5 song increments, not sure how its still running, but it is.)
Size of MP3': 26.6 GB
Duration of MP3's: 2 weeks, 4 days, 18 hours, 32 minutes.

Hey,

I'm running a Twitch stream featuring a bot I wrote that scrapes Bandcamp for Australian artists in a variety of genres, at the moment its just grabbing metal/punk related genres but will expand out after I fully dial the bot in.

I hope to download 10,000 mp3 files, make a big .zip file and distribute it via torrent. This stream is a way of vetting the artists featured as there is a pretty big "AI" issue on the platform at the moment. "Artists" uploading days of AI-generated content with zero effort, clogging up feeds. If you suspect any artists featured could be AI, let me know and I can exclude them.

I'll try to keep the bot/stream up as long as possible, but there may be periods of inactivity due to fixing bugs etc.
