I dug my old Sony Walkman out of the vault a couple of nights ago to use as a sample source for the Korg volca modular. This was last portable cassette player I ever owned! I think my favorite cassettes at the time were Men at Work Cargo and Phil Collins No Jacket Required. Plus a whole bunch of mix tapes I no longer have. 😢
I remember this unit replaced a Sanyo mini boombox cassette recorder used to make dozens of off-the-air recordings including this cassette of Doctor Demento snips from probably 1985.
Re-listening to the whole thing makes me feel like I just won nostalgia bingo. You know it, all that juvenile glee; fuzzy insides and stuff.
Right now I am undecided what bits to share.. just some clips or sample some of it for later jams?
Which of these synth music styles are you into right now?
I'm grouping the genres this way as I feel like there's a lot of crossover from what I have listened to in those areas.
I am curious what you think because I am having a hard time deciding myself!
WoW! 100+ subscribers in a month's time!! I can hardly believe it...
Here's a Korg Volca Bass patch I named Wow! because that's what it sounds like. Was planning to share it soon, but all the better occasion to do it today! Thanks for your support. 🌿
Is there anything you'd like to see me produce or try out in upcoming videos? Let me know in the comments.
