Hi!
Welcome to the QJamTracks channel!

I’m an professional guitar teacher and graphic designer from the Netherlands. I combine different disciplines to create graphical enhanced guitar tutorials that have one main goal: Make music theory (and practical application of that theorie) crystal clear for everyone at every level.

I make e-books of every video that I make so you can study offline or use it for teaching. You can find my e-bookshop here:

A good day to you!

Have you ever heard of Pat Martino? He's legendary and found a way to simplify Jazz improvisation while still sounding rich and sophisticated. It's called "minor conversions" and I made a tutorial about it for everyone to understand. I'm convinced this will be an absolute eyeopener!

It will be published Thursday. So watch it!
And a comprehensive e-book will follow in the weekend after.

Warm Regards,
Rob

New E-book!

Not only did I publish a comprehensive e-book, but I also made a new design for the books. It's fresh, easier to read, more fun to read an prettier than ever ;)

The whole tone scale is an a-typical scale that is often associated with outside sounds in Jazz, fusion and progressive Rock. It is also a very versatile scale that can be found in many styles, from impressionist compositions to Stevie Wonder to the inimitable virtuous sounds of Alan Holdsworth solos and… everything in between.

You can find the e-book here:
qjamtracks.myshopify.com/products/how-to-use-the-w…

In this lesson you will learn all about this whole tone scale and you will learn to use the scale in a musical manner so you can create whole tone licks and whole tone music with confidence.

For that we’ll dive deep into this scale and its theory to understand the scale and get a hold of its sound. We look at remarkable chords that are present in the scale and we’ll see how to use these chords when comping or soloing over different chords in different situations.

FREE/DISCOUNT for Patreons (patreon.com/qjamtracks)

If you are a Friends Forever Patreon then the e-book is free to download.
3-times-good-times patreons are entitled to a 25% discount.

Good day to you!

As we speak I’m finishing the e-book about superimposing triads over min7, maj7 and dom7 chords. You saw something of that in my last tutorial. By using triads of the altered scale we can create very nice outside sounds over the dom7 chord.

The e-book comes with a comprehensive explanation of this concept so everyone can understand it. It also comes with audio examples and backing tracks.

In this way you can study offline in your own time and tempo.

I’ll keep you posted and tell you when it is available.

Have a great weekend,

Rob

QUESTION!

I've turned on automatic audio language dubbing in YouTube for all my videos. The problem is that YouTube by default plays the AI overdub voice in the language of the user. For some this is annoying. Other find it beneficial...

I was wondering how you feel about this. Do you appreciate YouTube's overdub in your language by default?

How to come from a knowing a scale to a creating a solo?

That is the subject of the next quite comprehensive tutorial where I lay out a roadmap for transforming a scale (that is not music perse) to a well sounding musical solo.

So, stay tuned for this one…

Hope to see you there,
Rob

Today I published a video about using dominant arpeggios over minor chords (yes, dominant over minor!) and the effect that this has on the sound. An effective example of superimposing...
