Hi!
Welcome to the QJamTracks channel!
I’m an professional guitar teacher and graphic designer from the Netherlands. I combine different disciplines to create graphical enhanced guitar tutorials that have one main goal: Make music theory (and practical application of that theorie) crystal clear for everyone at every level.
I make e-books of every video that I make so you can study offline or use it for teaching. You can find my e-bookshop here:

How to come from a knowing a scale to a creating a solo?
That is the subject of the next quite comprehensive tutorial where I lay out a roadmap for transforming a scale (that is not music perse) to a well sounding musical solo.
So, stay tuned for this one…
Hope to see you there,
Rob

Today I published a video about using dominant arpeggios over minor chords (yes, dominant over minor!) and the effect that this has on the sound. An effective example of superimposing...
You'll find it here:

Tabs will be posted on my patreon page (patreon.com/qjamtracks)

New video announcement!
I’m working on a new guitar tutorial for you. The altered scale is a SUPER JUICY scale for dominant chords in Fusion, Prog and Jazz, but also TRICKY to use. But not anymore (!!+!) with the approach in the upcoming lesson, where we use minor chords for a dominant effect. What? MINOR chords? Yes, minor as minor can get! Because two minor sisters are going to disguise themselves as an altered dominant mistress...(twilight zone music is playing ;)

Rob

New E-book: Coltrane Changes
In this digital e-book you'll find a deep dive into the Coltrane changes, which is a harmonic concept of one of the most influential musicians of this planet: Saxophonist and composer John Coltrane.
You’ll learn about his ground-breaking harmonic system known as Coltrane Changes, which is a series of chord substitutions that (safe to say) has “revolutionized” jazz improvisation. This system is applicable not only to Jazz, but just as easy to other styles too.
The Coltrane changes are great for expanding your harmonic vocabulary. Understanding the Coltrane changes will provide you with some beautiful eye-opening ideas. In this e-book we’ll break down the structure, analyse examples and apply these concepts directly to musical examples.

Hi Fellow Guitarist!
Since you are a subscriber of my channel (QJamTracks Guitar Tutorials) I want you to know that I’m working on a video about a subject that is fairly unknown outside of Jazz. Yet it is very usable for all us in any style. And it really sets your progressions and outside sounding solos apart from the rest.
The name is “Coltrane Changes” or “Coltrane Matrix”, once invented by one of the most influential musicians of his era: Saxophonist John Coltrane.
The upcoming tutorial is about the unique progression itself and a tiny bit about improvising. If you think it’s interesting enough (please, let me know in a comment), then I will make a second video with improvisation ideas that comprehend “triad arpeggios”, “pentatonic substitutions” and even “quartal chord arpeggio” ideas.
With this you can create outside sounds, but also very beautiful and lovely sounds.
Anyway, if you have any questions or requests, don’t hesitate to share your thoughts with me.
I hope you will enjoy the video… when it’s ready.
Regards!
