Some of the things we lean on aren’t bad things at all.

A career can give us purpose. A relationship can bring love and stability. Money can help us feel secure. Plans can give us direction.

The problem starts when a good thing begins carrying weight it was never meant to hold.

Without realizing it, something God gave us can become the thing we depend on to tell us who we are, whether we’re safe, or whether everything is going to be okay.

That’s when support becomes dependence.
