Hey all! I'm Rio, and I make videos about my favorite game series. I have four ongoing series at the moment.
Why You Should Play- Where I talk about games I've completed and enjoyed and why others should play them.
Why I'm Excited For- Where I talk about upcoming games that have caught my eye
Next Game Up (formerly known as Sequelitis)- Where I theorize about future games in series I'm invested in
Character Analysis- Where I discuss particular video game characters and why they're great
An Annual State of Falcom video - Where I dig into the weeds of what is happening with Japanese developer Nihon Falcom and their games such as Trails, Ys, Xanadu, and more
There are some other videos I make as well that don't fall into those categories, but for the most part, those are the videos I make.

We've started November and I hope things have started out well for you all.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter - This video is already out, I basically count it as the October original plan just one day late. That's it for our Falcom videos until Trails Beyond the Horizon and then the Falcom outlook for 2026. It's going to be an exciting year I can tell.
Hades II - After finishing Sky 1st Chapter this is the game that took up my attention. I am getting close to rolling credits (minimum 4 more runs). I'm looking forward to telling you all about my thoughts given my history with Supergiant Games.
Octopath Traveler 0 - Probably my most anticipated title for the rest of the year coming early in December. I still have more to think about and am hoping for a demo in the coming weeks to get a start on things.
Demonschool - Indie RPG I've been looking forward to for a while. I'm hoping it'll be a good experience (and hopefully not too long as I try to fit in all the games towards the end of the year).
After Hades II I've got some choices to make. Square Enix were generous enough to give me a code for Dragon Quest 1 and 2 Remakes so that's an option along with Tales of Xillia Remastered. Either way I will likely move on from one of those to Octopath Traveler 0 and then come back for the other one once I'm done that game, and that will likely finish off the year. Wild that the year is winding down. It's been a great one for gaming I'll wager. What are you all planning to play this November, let me know in the comments, have a great month, and happy gaming!

Hey community,
Thank you to everyone for the love on the last few videos. I wanted to give a specific highlight from my collaborative video to one of the creators who contributed to that video @Arkry_. He did a great job on the video talking about Nier Replicant and his channel is so close to 1,000 subscribers. Let's get him to that big 4 digits! Also if you want to watch his section and the original video check it out here.

Apologies for the late post but here are the monthly plans. Thank you to everyone for the great support especially on the video about Luke fon Fabre it's been great seeing everyone's reactions and welcoming new people in to the community!
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter - I'm currently in chapter 3 of the game, not rushing but definitely getting some progress in the game. I certainly expect my video on it to be coming this month since my month is not looking too busy overall.
Dragon Quest 1 + 2 Remake - I played Dragon Quest 3 Remake so you best believe I'll be tackling Dragon Quest 1 and 2 as well, and there's plenty to talk about because they've added and adjusted a lot in this remake process. Dragon Quest in general really seems to be leaning into remakes so this won't be the last one it appears.
Special Collab - This really should be coming as soon as the last piece falls into place, I thank my collaborators for their patience on this and I hope you all enjoy it when it does come out.
Ys vs Trails in the Sky - One of the many Falcom releases this year we have the fighting game crossover between Ys and Trails. I have played it before with the original Geofront translation and it was a fun enough time. Not typically something up my alley but I'll probably try to give a try if the chance comes along.
Tales of Xilia Remastered - The game we all knew was coming although the timing of it is maybe not the most convenient. I've wanted to play Tales of Xilia for a while now, it was probably the game I wanted to play most of those I haven't played in the series.
Final Fantasy Tactics The Ivalice Chronicles - I have begun playing the game on stream, so check out my Twitch to see me play through the game. Definitely a strong opening and I'm ready for more strategic fun.
Hades II - Another September release that I'm sprinkling in between all the other games I'm playing. I hope to be able to dedicate more time to it post finishing Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, but more Hades is always good.
That's the deal, lots of games on the plate and more to come. I will be trying to continue bringing out content without burning myself out since this is a long stretch of the year for me, and this past week was especially exhausting. It's worth it though when I can share my love for games with all of y'all. What are you planning to play in October? Let me know and I hope you all have a great month, and happy gaming!

We made it through August, and as predicted it was hella busy for me. And then I also food poisoning which wrecked some of my video plans as well, but we are back and on track again, so let's talk about September.
No Sleep For Kaname Date - I finished up the game last week and will soon be starting on gathering stuff together for the script. I anticipate that being a quick one since the game is shorter, but we shall have to see. I very much hope it's a quicker video so that I have more time for...
Character analysis #9 - August turned out to be too ambitious, in part because my script for this video has now reached 22 pages long. At this rate it will be the longest scripted video I've ever made, so thank you for your patience. With that said we are at the point where I can start recording and I'm not nearly as busy as I was in August, so I have faith that this is the month you will see the video grace your screens.
Final Fantasy Tactics - The remastered version of Final Fantasy Tactics releases later this month, and I'm very excited. It's been a little while since a tactical RPG has scratched that particular itch and I've heard so many good things about the game over the years that I'm ready for it provided of course I am done with Sky the 1st before then.
Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter - I have played through all the demo and it's now just time to wait for the main release. I'm truly delighted with how well the game has turned out so far, and I can't wait to get my hands on the full game. That will absolutely be my main focus until it is done, which if I can dedicate the time shouldn't take too long.
Special Collab - No spoilers but yes there is a collab video scheduled for September as well. I've got some fun folks on board for it too!
And that's the big news, in the wait up to Sky remake's release I may play some shorter games or simply take that time to focus in on videos. No long RPG adventures to begin the month because there are plenty on the horizon to take care of. What are y'all planning to play in September? Let me know in the comments and I hope you have a great month and happy gaming!

Happy August everyone! I hope you have all been having a lovely summer so far. I was able to get to every video I wanted to make in July which sets up well for August, but August is an exceptionally busy month for me, so let's see if my ambitions are realized this month as well.
Dragon Quest 3 Remake - Finally got around to playing it and it's been a really fun time. No spoilers but I just hit a major turning point towards the end of the game, so my hope and expectation is that I will be finished with the game this week leaving me time to get that video out and proceed on to another adventure. Still undecided as to whether that will be either No Sleep for Kaname Date or Fuga 3.
Character Analysis #9 - Progress has definitely picked up and the inclusion of the video on the August plans is one I'm using to motivate me to continue plugging away at it. I'm really excited to get it out to you all because if things go as I expect this video could become very timely very quickly.
Trails in the Sky First Chapter - We're getting oh so close and I have a lot to say about how the remake is looking so far. Stay tuned towards the end of the month for my full thoughts.
There is one other possible video that could happen this month depending on my play schedule, but I won't spoil it here if indeed it comes. Either way thank you all for sticking around and your support. Have a great month, and happy gaming!

It's my birthday month and therefore the best month of the year. I hope y'all's first day of July has been a good one. Let's talk channel stuff.
Suikoden II - Yes I have now beaten Suikoden II and the video on that should be coming out this Saturday. I hope you're all looking forward to that one since I know plenty were waiting for it after it was decided to split the Suikoden remaster coverage into two videos.
Final Fantasy VI - This Saturday is going to be quite the busy day as I will also be streaming the finale of my playthrough of Final Fantasy VI on Saturday (1 PM EST for those curious). With that done that means that for the first time I will be making a video on a Final Fantasy game for this channel. No estimated date yet as the next video I will talk about will take priority, but the Final Fantasy VI video will come this month.
No Sleep For Kaname Date - The third game in the Ai the Somnium Files series is nearly here, and while in multiple ways it is different from the two prior games I'm still excited for our favorite detective to return. I hope y'all are excited as well.
Character Analysis video #9 - I made some progress in June albeit less than I was hoping for. My plan is to try to better utilize my time to make more consistent progress for the script. My ultimate goal is to get that video done before summer ends. We shall see if those ambitions can be reached.
As always there are some possibilities for additional videos, but I feel this is a good lineup that will hopefully appeal to many of you. What have y'all been playing in June and what do you plan to play in July? Let me know in the comments, have a great month, and happy gaming!

Welcome to June, here's what I've got planned for the month plus some additional stuff that may happen depending on how fast I get through certain games.
Gurumin - Completed the game on stream a few weeks ago, but the video was delayed as I focused on finishing up Clair Obscur. This will likely be the first video of the month when I'm able to sit down and bang out the script for it.
Xenoblade X - This is the game I'm currently focused on and I am starting chapter 8 today, which is why I figure that I'll be able to finish the game this month and get a video out on it. Been fun but a very different experience from my other Xenoblade adventures.
Final Fantasy VI - I started streaming it last month and if all goes well I could finish it this month, but I think it is unlikely I'll be able to finish it and get to the video.
Character analysis - June is a month where I actually have quite a bit of free time compared to every other month of the year, which is why I want to get some good work done on the next character analysis video. Those videos take more time than anything else I do for the channel, so the video will hopefully be coming out later in the summer, but I wanted to let you all know that I'm starting on the process.
More videos? - There are some other chances for videos depending on what is going on and how quickly I can get through Xenoblade X. After that's finished I can turn my attention to other games waiting for me such as Suikoden 2 and Fuga 3.
Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma - It looks really good, but I haven't played any of the Rune Factory games so I'm probably not jumping on it immediately, but I'm keeping an eye out and the reviews in so far look solid.
That's currently what I'm looking at as I rest and recuperate from the chaos of the last few months. In my last big free month (January) I was able to do a lot. This month though I feel like setting reasonable expectations so I can feel rejuvenated and really hit the ground running in July. That's the hope at least, and I hope you are all doing well this month and you have a great time playing whatever games you play. Have a great month and happy gaming!

Made it to May and things may be clearer going forward! April got very busy for me towards the end and that will be extending into this month, but I did get the number of videos out I wanted in April (just not exactly the ones I promised). This month though everything begins to clear up, so let's talk games.
Yakuza Like A Dragon - I finished the game in April exactly on plan, I wrote the script, captured the footage, and just never recorded the audio because my life got too crazy. That does mean that when I have a spare moment that video will be quick and easy to get done, but I need to find that moment either this weekend or next. That will be the first video of the month.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33 - The nice folks at Sandfall gave me a code, but due to the aforementioned busy schedule I am only in Act II. This game rules though, if you haven't played it already just wait. I'm going to have a lot to gush about with regards to this game.
Fuga Melodies of Steel 3 - The final game in the trilogy is coming this month and I've got some stuff to say about it. The children are back to save their country!
Gurumin A Monstrous Adventure - Another game I finished on stream after Yakuza Like A Dragon. I have discovered that 3D platforming is not my strong suit, but I still beat the game, and plan to talk about it either this month or next.
As usual the streaming adventures continue with a new game starting today and then come June will be the beginning of the Final Fantasy adventure with Final Fantasy VI. Honestly, things are finally slowing down on the game release side of things so I feel like I'm going to be able to catch up on games during this stretch. I hope you are all having a lovely month and happy gaming!

So those of you who have been here a little while may remember I covered a novelization of one of the games I played Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana. Well the writer of that book plus Falcom and the publishing company have some new things coming out for those interested!
1. An audiobook featuring Kira Buckland returning as Laxia
2. A set of tales inspired by the side quests and character quests of the game written by Anna Kashina
3. A cookbook of the recipes from the game
4. A collector's set including all of the aforementioned plus some neat other stuff
The publisher was very nice and has provided me with a copy of the audiobook, side story book, and cookbook. Thus far I've only had the time to glance over the cookbook, but it was nice to see that it is simple to follow and each recipe comes with a little blurb written from the perspective of one of the cast of the game. A detail I think fans will definitely approve. Hope you all enjoy if you do partake in this offerings! I'll probably have a later update when I do have the time to listen to the audiobook and read the side stories (who knows I may even try one of the recipes out myself).
