Wanna know how to fix Destiny 2 currently?

Keep the same content, and the same Portal. Do the Into the Light model instead.

No leveling slog with scores and numbers, none of that. The +1 +2 C,B,A+ crap is aggravating and a chore, and we all hate it.

Simply keep all of the Portal activities, Onslaught included, with rare chances of Tier 5s for everyone in each and every single activity. Make them much rarer for Solo Ops, since they're easy, while making them more common for longer activities. The longer the activity, the higher the drop chances for all Tier 5s. Then in addition, make increasingly higher Tier chances for each bane and difficulty you add to said activities when you choose the custom options, while keeping the rarities the same for the playlist versions.

Basically, for each Bane or modifier I add to a custom non playlist Portal activity, my chances of earning a Tier 5 increases.

Also do Pantheon again, and don't take it away. Keep it in the game until players get bored.

Keep it indefinitely, with far higher chances of Tier 5s, plus very rare chances to get raid exotics you never got. Make it guaranteed Tier 4 Portal loot for raids in Pantheon, because raids are trickier than solo play. They demand a lot more from players, and they aren't played often. It's okay to make Pantheon guarantee Tier 4s.

Keep expanding on Pantheon, add more raid encounters like Riven and the Witness. If you add Garden encounters to it, make Divinity a very rare exotic drop chance, while the guaranteed way remains the same as it is: within the Garden of Salvation Divinity quest. Provide a new and interesting way to obtain that one specifically, while keeping the guaranteed version. This will boost engagement by a lot, because a lot of us covet that exotic.

Expand on Pantheon. Make a Dungeon encounter version of it, exactly like Pantheon from Into the Light. The current Dungeon layers are fine, I'm not a fan personally, but keep them anyways. Add Dungeon encounters to Pantheon within the Portal as well. A rotating playlist. Players will love that.

In short: do not make the game a level grind until you get to 470 where you can earn endless Tier 5s from that point on.

That's stupid.

Make higher Tiers available for everyone off the bat BUT at extremely low drop chances. If we want higher drop chances, we can add whatever banes and mods we want. The harder the Portal activity, the more guaranteed Tier 4s and shiny Tier 5s will drop.

TLDR: leveling slowly 1 number at a time is not fun. It's a slog. Random chances of getting shiny loot IS fun. That's what made Into the Light so special.

Into the Light was one of the greatest eras in of all of Destiny.
Make the entire Portal like Into the Light. You might as well drop Light leveling altogether, and make each difficulty modifier and delta a means of getting those SHINIES BABY, SHINIES!!!

That's how you can easily, and affordably, fix this problem.

This Edge of Fate Campaign is actually great! If this was Lightfall, Lightfall would have skyrocketed in sales.

The writing is excellent, the characters are loveable, and the puzzles are a lot like Portal 2. Some are hair pulling, but that's the point. You're not supposed to eager edge rush it, it's actually fun to figure out.

This is a good Expansion actually, it's Goated! Still playing the story, I'm very late because the timing was during one of the busiest weeks ever at my job. Definitely recommend Edge of Fate for all who like a casual, laid back low stakes, down to earth story! :)

As a writer, this is an EXCELLENT way to begin a new Saga. Start small, start humble. Build from there. I love it!

Say less review of Edge of Fate:

I'm actually really enjoying it. I haven't finished it yet because I'm really busy with work, but this half expansion with lower stakes is already leagues better than Lightfall. YIKES THAT SAYS A LOT ABOUT LIGHTFALL! 🤣

This is a lot of fun, actually! Lodi, Orin, and the entire cast are genuinely adorable and written very well. Lodi is Goated, LEAGUES better than Millenial writing Nimbus. 😒

The puzzles are actually a lot of fun, and they get you thinking. This reminds me of Portal 2! So far I'm loving this actually, it's no magnum opus like The Final Shape, but it's already better than both Shadowkeep and Lightfall. I dig it a lot.

My only complaint so far is the dimming and uglifying of the world map on purpose, to force us to use the Portal. Wtf!? Why did you do that!? Just leave it alone, let us use both how we please. I love the Portal, it's awesome, but I hate the micro managing take on the world map. That's extremely annoying. Change it back and keep the Portal as it is. That's absurd.

Some of the puzzles are irritating, but I'm genuinely loving this so far. I wasn't expecting to like this more casual down to earth experience this much. I'm really liking the new changes and the soft reset to the game with the lower numbers and Stat changes. I really, really like this! It's exactly what Destiny 2 needed: a soft restart.

For comparison: Lightfall, 5/10.
The Final Shape, 10/10.
Shadowkeep, 4/10.
Beyond Light, 6/10.
Edge of Fate... 7/10(so far. Digging this a lot! 🤙)

My creative drive for Destiny content creation is dead right now, but my love for the franchise remains.

I'm not going anywhere, noe have I gone anywhere. I just might be quiet and inactive in the background, casually gaming, and waiting for the right moment to tell my next story. You guys love them, and thank you so much! 🥹 I'm focusing on my novel right now, I believe it's my magnum opus, and I WILL be getting Edge of Fate! I know the community is a bit in shambles, and I respect and acknowledge every single opinion and perspective. I've been watching our favorite content creators and Bungie themselves too along with you. :)

I'm a casual and chill Destiny player now, and I'm also maturing and focusing on important things in my life.

Wherever this franchise goes, whoever wields the keys, and whoever decides the fate(pun intended) for the Destiny brand... That's where I will go too.

In the same way youtubers who I've been watching for decades now, stay quiet and sometimes drop bangers once in a blue moon, so too will I be that type of youtuber. If you'd like to subscreeb, or unsubscribe, the choice is 100% yours!

I'll be around y'all, and I'm also going to be playing a LOT of EoF after it drops too. I really like Graviton Spike, the Titan exotic, matterspark, the Portal, quality of life changes, the new Fallen units, and the renewed focus on puzzle mechanic similar to Portal 1 and 2.

I dig all of it personally, as a mostly solo player.

It's a half expansion, so my expectations are set to half of the usual yearly drop we've been accustomed to. I think the price is reasonable, and I fully understand the community's concerns, every single one.

Anyways, see you guys soon! Fingers crossed, one day I pray and hope SONY takes over and replaces the Bungie leadership. That would be amazing for the long term quality of one of my favorite games. 🤞 You all know how I feel about the corruption within Bungie. I won't harp on it any further.
