Before this week’s poll, I just wanted to say thank you for all the new views, subscriptions and incredibly sweet comments lately. I really hope these little worlds give you somewhere cozy to escape to. 🤎

I’ve also seen more people asking if I’d ever create without that base AI, or saying they’d love to see what I could make completely from scratch.

And yes, that is something I’d love to work toward in the future. 🕯️

Creating fully original scenes takes a lot more time, tools and resources, so I’m slowly saving toward that next step.

It’ll take a while, and AI will still be part of my process for now, but I’m excited to keep growing Hollow Hearth with you.

Well, Hearthlings… you’ve done it again. 🍄🍎

The Mossy Mushroom Tea House and The Witch’s Orchard Market both finished with 29% of the votes !! and honestly, I refuse to choose between enchanted tea and suspiciously magical apples.

So we’re visiting both:

The Tea House will be warm, mossy and hidden deep within the forest .. filled with old-fashioned teacups, tiny pastries, glowing lanterns and one very large red mushroom roof.

❄️ NEW Ambience: Morwenna’s Midsummer Conservatory

This week, we’re stepping into the world of The Cauldron Sisters.

Meet Morwenna, the most mysterious of the three sisters. While the world outside glows beneath the midsummer sun, Morwenna prefers to retreat into her shadowy conservatory with her familiar, her ancient spellbook, and one very necessary cooling spell.

This is the first part of a small summer series in which Morwenna, Serephina, and Elowen will each show us what they love most about summer—or, perhaps more accurately, how they survive it. 🖤

Expect gentle frost, drifting mist, glowing candles, dried herbs, old magic, and a beautiful sunlit garden just beyond the doors. ❄️🌿

🐈‍⬛ NEW Ambience: Witch Cottage Feel

A warm summer afternoon, a quiet witch cottage, an enchanted hand fan, and one extremely comfortable familiar who has claimed the best chair in the house.

This ambience will be filled with soft cottage sounds, candlelight, dried herbs, spellbooks, magical little details, and a peaceful view across the wildflower fields.

A little update from Hollow Hearth... 🍂

Recently, YouTube removed my monetisation ,even after my appeal.
The reason given was that my content was considered "inauthentic and mass produced"

I'm not going to lie. That hurt.
I also wanted to share this because, after everything that's happened, I realised some people might genuinely think Hollow Hearth is just a machine spitting things out. It isn't.

There's a real person behind these videos who obsesses over tiny details, changes their mind twenty times, and spends way too long deciding whether a ghost should be have a cute little bow or eating a cinnamon roll.

Because (let me be totally transparent) while I do use AI as part of my workflow, what you see on Hollow Hearth isn't simply a prompt and an upload.

The image i added shows one example of how a single ambience scene actually comes together. (i can show you A LOT more of examples but this seemed the most clear way)

1. The Vision
Every video starts with a feeling. I collect references, build moodboards, and work out what I'm trying to create before I generate anything,the mood, the colors, the story, the atmosphere.

2. The First Concept
I generate an initial image using AI. It's a starting point, not the finished piece.

3. Editing & Refining
That image comes into Canva /Gimp, where I remove things that don't fit, improve quality, adjust lighting and composition, and add elements that make it feel like Hollow Hearth, a witch hat here, Vesper the cat, the Cauldron Sisters, a ghost in the corner. (i used to have the Adobe Package, but i can't afford that for now)

4. Building the Scene
Everything moves into DaVinci Resolve, where the full ambience is layered and edited together. often 20+ tracks deep.

5. Animation & Effects
Breathing cats. Swinging lanterns. Candle flickers. Rain. Steam. Color grading. Masks. Keyframes. Tiny movements that help these places feel alive. Alot of these animations are created manually by me and others are assisted by AI tools. I use whatever gets the scene closest to the feeling I'm after.

I studied Media Design. I've always loved drawing, painting, storytelling, and building worlds.

If I had unlimited resources, maybe I'd create every single asset entirely from scratch.
But I don't .. so I use the tools available to me to bridge the gap between the worlds in my imagination and what one person can realistically create. (who know's what the future brings)

Hollow Hearth was never meant to fool anyone.
It was created to be a cozy corner of the internet for people who miss October in July, love Halloween year-round, and find comfort in a little whimsy and magic.
