Tata Power Renewables has received the Letter of Award (LOA) from Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd (PITCMRL) for a 7.67 MWp rooftop solar EPC project for captive consumption.

Spanning 23 stations and the metro depot of Pune Metro Line 3, the project marks one of India’s largest urban metro rooftop solar integrations. The turnkey scope covers design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.

Once commissioned, the project will significantly reduce operational energy costs for metro services while enhancing the environmental performance of public transport infrastructure, supporting India’s accelerating urban renewable energy transition.

Walking across the site are 19 women engineers who now form nearly 37% of the on-site workforce. With hard hats on and responsibility in hand, they oversee installations, coordinate teams and solve challenges in real time. Many have travelled far from their hometowns to pursue careers once considered unconventional.
