Lose Fat Get Jacked

Sometimes a step backward is actually a step forward.

When it brings you clarity and helps you refocus.

When it allows your body and mind to recharge.

When it refreshes your spirits.

When it reinvigorates your soul.

When it provides you with the opportunity to look within and become more in-tune with your inner nature.

Intentionally taking a step backward when you begin to feel overwhelmed or exhausted is a reason to celebrate your sense of awareness towards your wellbeing.

Then there are the times when life forces a step backwards upon you with an injury, an illness, a challenge, or a setback. Recognizing that this is happening FOR YOU and not to you, while having the awareness to embrace this opportunity is also a reason to celebrate.

This simple shift in mindset allows you to see the bigger picture and the magic at play.

Have you tried supplementing with higher dose creatine from 10-25 grams per day?

I’ve been seeing some people rave about the cognitive benefits and others who thought they were non responders to 5 grams are finding that they are feeling stronger and have more endurance from the higher doses.

Ive always found that 5 grams per day made my muscles look fuller, but I can’t say that I experienced any strength gains or improvement in muscle endurance. I just recently bumped my intake up to 10 grams per day and already noticing an increase in strength, which is pretty cool.

PS this is the creatine I use lddy.no/1bxpf

Ok… I’ll flex, but only because it’s Friday 😂

It’s nice to draw the comparisons between my previous post where I’m standing relaxed and these pics.

Post workout, great lighting, relaxed and not flexing. I no longer chase aesthetics. I simply live my life to the fullest and allow my body to be a product of doing the things the bring joy to my life and allow me to thrive.

I keep things SUPER SIMPLE. I don’t over complicate anything. I don’t deal with the minutia. This is all the product of mastering the basic fundamentals. Portion control and moving my body in fun ways. No secrets here.

As a coach I can’t tell you what exercises feel best to you and suit you best. I can’t tell you what foods you should avoid and which ones will energize you. I can’t tell you when you should go to bed and what time you should wake up.

But what I can do is work with you to heighten your sense of awareness as to what exercises, foods, sleep schedule, and lifestyle habits allow you to THRIVE and feel ALIVE!

I can help you look within so you can learn to TRUST YOURSELF in making the choices that truly serve you best from moment to moment.

I can guide you back to YOU! Which is where all the answers can be found.

A moment of indecision opens the door for fear and doubt to creep in.

But what if I fail? What if it doesn’t work out? What if people think I’m crazy? What if I make a fool of myself?

The only way to overcome those fears and doubts is COMMITMENT. Doing what needs to be done in order to achieve what you desire, in spite of the very real possibility that you may fall in the process.

When learning to handstand I noticed that if I allowed a moment of indecision to creep in my mind, the fear and doubts would begin to dominate my thoughts. And at that point all I could picture in my mind was failure to stick the hold. As a result I would lose focus and containment as I kicked up. My legs would uncontrollably flop over my head and land on the wall or mirror. Yet when I approach a handstand fully committed, my technique is deliberate and executed with clarity, even if I happen to fall out of it. And if I do fall, I have a heightened sense of awareness as to how I can course correct the next time.

It’s all an opportunity to learn and grow. If you succeed in executing the plan, you learn what worked. If things don’t go as planned, you learn what still needs work and how you can improve the next time. Either way you win.

Fully commit to not just the long term goal, but to each task throughout the journey. Every step counts and deserves the same level of complete commitment as all the others in the process.

A prime example of this is how coach John Wooden emphasized the importance of his players properly putting on their socks and lacing their shoes before practices and games. Because if they were lazy about their commitment to these simplest of tasks, they ran the risk of getting a blister, which would impede their performance on the basketball court.

I commit to living a life of joy, peace, and freedom. I achieve this through a heightened sense of awareness in each moment. Recognizing that even what may seem like a mundane task such as mopping the floor is an opportunity to fulfill this desire.

Life is about growth. But what does growth actually look like?

Is it the rat race in today’s society where so many people are in a constant state of grinding, working, and pursuing happiness without actually experiencing it?

Indeed, in order to grow we need to embrace moments that challenge us and cause us to step outside of our comfort zone. But growth also requires moments of stillness, rest, and presence. I’d argue that this actually contributes the most to the growth process.

In bodybuilding, when we workout we are in a state of stimulating the muscles and breaking them down. It’s when we rest and recover that our muscles repair, rebuild, and grow. Since reducing the number of days I workout and the amount of training volume I perform, I feel like I’ve made more progress than I have in recent years and I’ve never felt better.

In music, it’s the space between the notes… that brief moment of silence that makes a song or melody so beautiful and breathtaking.

Have you ever felt stuck when working on a project and out of frustration you decide to take a break, only to return with more clarity, focus, and creativity?

Recognize that becoming a better version of yourself today than you were yesterday isn’t about chasing after it, it’s about experiencing it from moment to moment right here and now. It’s just as much about not doing as it is doing. Embracing each stage and moment of the growth process.

Realized it’s been 8 months since I stroked my ego and done a vanity check 😁 For the record, still 💯 lifetime natty. No TRT or performance enhancing drugs. And still a light weight holding just under 150 pounds at 5’ 7” tall.

As I approach my 50th birthday in September, I’m pretty damn proud of the reflection I see staring back at me in the mirror. Mostly because it’s a product of me living my life to the fullest. Doing the things that allow me to thrive and feel alive.

Weight training 3 times per week. Yoga most days. Calisthenics. Jog 3 times per week. Walk daily. Mobility/flexibility training. Prioritizing sleep. Being responsible with nutrition while enjoying all of my favourite foods. Managing stress. Expressing the best version of myself in each moment 💪

Time is running out to make your donation towards helping disabled kids, youth and young adults access the equipment, resources, and opportunities they require to live their life to the fullest.

The SOLD OUT Dancing With The Easter Seals fundraiser at the Water’s Edge Event Centre this Friday night is shaping up to an incredibly entertaining evening.

Caydance Dolores and I just wrapped up our final rehearsal before the big day. I’ve had such a blast throughout this entire process and ridiculously grateful for Caydance’s guidance, support, encouragement, and patience.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever picture myself dancing in front of judges, yet here I am.

It’s a beautiful thing to witness how life provides you with amazing opportunities to learn, grow, and experience the joy of discovering new things that nourish your soul.

There’s no doubt that being a part of something that’s much greater than yourself, is rewarding beyond measure.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so very much for your support towards this wonderful cause. I’m stoked that I’ve been able to raise $1133 in donations up to this point, in addition to $1125 in ticket sales for the event. But I’d really love to see a final push here to help get closer to my goal. If you can help in any way, I would appreciate it BIG TIME! 🙏

It’s fantastic to see that together, the celebrity dancers in this event have already raised close to $10,000. How awesome is that!
