Gentleness Leads, Anger Loses Its Power

Good Morning Minute with Angelina Mojica
From Surviving to Healing: Finding Our Voice Through Mental Health Conversations
This past weekend, I had the honor of participating in a Mental Health Wellness Conference at the West Texas Food Bank—an experience that left me encouraged, humbled, and deeply grateful.
As I looked around the room, I saw something powerful: people searching for answers, seeking connection, carrying stories, and longing to know they are not alone.
That is why I continue to share my story.
For many years, I believed parts of my journey were meant to stay hidden. The pain, the shame, the disappointments, and the wounds felt too heavy to talk about. But through my own healing journey, God showed me that our stories are not meant to imprison us—they are meant to set us free and help others find freedom too.
During my presentation, From Surviving to Healing: Rebuilding Life Beyond Shame, I spoke about the reality that so many people are quietly carrying burdens that no one else can see. We often become experts at surviving while neglecting the healing our hearts desperately need.
Mental health wellness is not weakness.
Seeking support is not weakness.
Talking about anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or emotional struggles is not weakness.
It is courage.
The more we create safe spaces to have honest conversations, the more we dismantle the stigma that has kept so many suffering in silence. Healing begins when we realize we do not have to pretend we have it all together.
One of the most meaningful moments of the day was having the opportunity to pray with individuals who were seeking answers, direction, hope, and connection. Some came carrying questions. Others came carrying pain. Many simply needed someone to listen.
As I prayed with them, I was reminded that healing is rarely a destination—it is a journey. Sometimes healing comes through counseling. Sometimes through community. Sometimes through faith. Most often, it comes through a combination of all three. We heal best when we are willing to let others walk beside us.
Another special blessing was sharing the stage with my sister. There is something incredibly meaningful about standing alongside someone who knows your story, has witnessed your growth, and understands the valleys you’ve walked through. It was a beautiful reminder that healing often happens in relationships and that we are never meant to journey alone.
The conference reinforced something I believe with all my heart:
When one person finds the courage to tell their story, they give others permission to tell theirs.
Every time we choose vulnerability over silence, hope over shame, and connection over isolation, we help create a world where mental health conversations become normal, accepted, and encouraged.
I left the conference inspired by the resilience of those who attended and grateful for every conversation, every prayer, every hug, and every shared story.
To anyone reading this who may be struggling right now, please hear this:
You do not have to carry it alone.
Your story matters.
Your voice matters.
Your mental health matters.
And no matter where you are in your journey, healing is possible.
Thank you to everyone who attended, shared, listened, and connected. Together, we are creating a culture where mental health wellness is discussed openly, compassionately, and without judgment.
Because healing begins when we stop merely surviving and start believing that restoration is possible.
Much love, much peace, and many blessings,
Angelina Mojica
