I am running a small AI experiment. And here are the details.
1) I pick one interesting topic for day and search for 5-10 articles with varied perspectives on the same topic.
Feed these 5-10 articles to AI and then start the MAGIC of prompt engineering:)
2) I run 14 different prompts on each topic to generate a video script. For example: One prompt to the GPT starts like "I am the CEO of a company, tell me what should I learn from the article". Second prompt: "I am 20 year old college student looking to get into corporate world. What can I takeaway from this article".
I do 14 such prompts. And then ask AI to compare ALL the 14 scripts generated and pick the best script which has the most relevant takeaways and engaging narration.
And then finally do a 30-40 second video on that:) NOW, I am doing 5--6 such short videos on a daily basis!!

AS LONG AS YOU WORK - GOVERNMENT WILL MAKE YOU PAY TAXES! But, if you lose your job - do you get any benefits from the government?
Well if you say, we are a big country - so tax collected is not enough! ABSOLUTELY RIGHT.
It is not enough. Only 2-3% of India FILE taxes. The corresponding numbers in developed nations is 60-65%.
Unless the government starts expanding the tax base - salaried employees will continue to pay 20-30% direct tax & indirect tax on everything starting hair oil to luxury cars.

Design Thinking - There is a lot of mystery associated with this word!
There are strategy companies which offer "Design Thinking" services. And then on the other end, there are companies which champion "Design Thinking" approach themselves (for example: AirBnB, Nike).
And, ask ANYBODY who worked on design thinking projects - they can say how this is more enriching & works at the intersection of Entrepreneurship & Strategy Consulting. Also, this Design Thinking approach is widely used in the UI/UX design space! . . This weekend, one of my classmates from INSEAD, Murtaza Bootwala is leading a design thinking workshop on the continuous learning platform that I recently launched. There is a LOT happening on the platform. Do join today - attend this session & get access to a whole lot of other things happening on the platform. Link: com.rpy.club/pdp/InquisitiveMinds
Karnataka govt. moved a bill to RESERVE Jobs for locals!
- Objective is to provide jobs for locals. But, why is the industry against it?
1) Companies select a location to setup their office based on TALENT availability.
- If the state govt. dictates whom to hire vs. whom not to hire. Why will companies set up their office in the state?
2) MNC's setup their backoffice services in India vs. many other countries because of language advantage. English.
- If the govt. says that prospective candidates should start taking Kannada written test even in a private company interview, what is the point?
3) Large organizations train their employees to conduct interviews in a specific way.
- Now if a Karnataka govt. official is sitting on the interview panel for every private interview: who is paying for that govt. official's time w.r.t. taking trainings/interviews?
4) Any MNC setting up their local office in India (a.k.a. Global Capability Center/GCC) will be taken aback.
- They would rather setup their office in Hyd/Chennai/Pune/other cities.
- Should they run a business OR fight the system?
Their incentives are aligned to run a business not fighting a system!
****
A better alternative is to setup skilling centers for local Kannadigas in the field of technology/semiconductors/biotechnology etc.
- In the last 6 months, 30% of GCCs setup in India are in the space of Semiconductors & majority are starting in Bangalore.
- These companies would appreciate availability of more talent in that domain.
Revamping the local govt. schools with the support of global companies.
- They have CSR budgets. Schools will also benefit from an industry perspective.

The current move seems short sighted. When there is no competition from other geographies - they can do what they want (just like how Singapore is doing).
But, with so much competition from other states - might backfire big time & might hurt Karnataka and India in the long run!
Interviewer: Jio is planning to enter the Sri Lankan market (hypothetical situation). Do you think Jio has the right internal capabilities to enter into this market?
Bad answer: Yes. It does! (Or no it doesn't). It did enter these kinds of markets in the past. So, I believe it would have all the capabilities to enter Sri Lanka as well!
Good answer: We need to assess Jio's capabilities across the following dimensions.
[1] Financing capabilities (Does it have the financial backing to support the initiative until it reaches its desired state). [2] Managerial capabilities (Does it have the right management attention AND can these people allocate the required time to enter the market). [3] Operational capabilities (Does it have the right team to carry on the ops, market the product, and sell the product in the Sri Lankan market). [4] If there are gaps in any of the above capabilities - Can Jio acquire a partner to quickly fill the gaps from a capability perspective? . .
Management Consulting interviews are NOT about "What you know" OR "What you don't know". It is about how you "approach" a particular problem.

In the last 1 week - I had conversations with friends and colleagues who are based out of Singapore, US, and Delhi.
Most of them are in their mid 30s & the situations are EXTREMELY SIMILAR.
1) They are now being considered as expensive resources & being replaced by younger ones.
2) They were having high salaries previously. But, now they are unable to find new jobs with similar high salaries.
- They are realizing that they need to take a step backwards in terms of salary.
3) They are feeling discontent about career growth. And if they find a job, they know that - they are going to face similar situation in the next 5 years AGAIN!
4) There is an urge to get into the startup world - but the financial constraints, family responsibilities come in the way.
- So, again unsure about the path forward.
I am not a genie to solve these problems. But, just a friend hearing them out!
All I can say is - There are a lot of us in the exact same boat. Unsure, insecure, and looking forward to doing something different & meaningful!

Why do SO MANY of us go abroad to study, work, and live?
The answer could be:
- You get to live in a clean city.
- Better return on taxation

- Better education/work/lifestyle opportunities for the next generations.
- Women safety
- Rightful fear of law & Better legal power to a citizen
It is not always about the money & You pick your priorities!
