Tim Curry: 1946-2026

I wasn't happy about Dolly Parton, but I'm going to be honest: this one hurts way way more. I'm just grateful that when I had the opportunity to meet him 8 years ago I was well on my journey and I feel like I got to meet him as something closer to who I am now than if I'd met him even just a year or two earlier.

He was the first person I really understood as an actor. What it meant to be someone completely different from performance to performance. I knew that Harrison Ford was both Han Solo and Indiana Jones but those were kind of the same character. But realizing that Wadsworth was also Darkness from Legend blew my young artistically inclined mind to pieces. I'm just glad I got the chance to tell him that seeing him so fully transform and embrace so many disparate things on screen for all to see helped give me perspective that got me to where and who I am.

He will be missed more than I knew how to find words for. But for whatever it's worth: Thank you, Tim.
