My real audience is watching 3 to 6 minutes per video. Vietnam: 4:39 average. Thailand: 5:53. India: 45,065 views. Ukraine: 4:56. Bangladesh: 5,297 views. I told you the Polar Vortex was coming. I told you PJM was 6,625 Megawatts short. I told you the grid had no buffer. I told you data centers were competing with your household for the same electrons. I told you to expect outages. I told you not to blame the storm — blame the shortfall.
I'm not a meteorologist. I'm not an energy analyst. I'm a utility pole installer who actually reads the reports that the people in charge hope you never look at.
Here's what happened AFTER I posted this:
❄️ Winter Storm Fern hit January 23-27. One of the deadliest winter storms since Uri in 2021.
⚡ Over 1 MILLION customers lost power across 13+ states.
💀 At least 153 people died. Mostly from hypothermia.
💰 $6.7 BILLION in estimated damages.
🔴 PJM declared a full grid emergency. Wholesale electricity prices spiked from $200 to over $3,000 per megawatt-hour. In one day.
🏢 The Department of Energy issued emergency orders telling DATA CENTERS to turn on their backup generators — because they were consuming too much of the grid during the crisis. Fortune magazine literally ran the headline: "Over a million people are losing power while data centers nearby guzzle electricity."
🪵 470 miles of power lines went down. Poles snapped under ice. Exactly what I said would happen when you combine rotten infrastructure with extreme weather and zero reserve margin.
I'm not telling you this to say "I told you so."
I'm telling you this because NONE of this information was hidden. It was in PJM's own financial reports. It was in NERC's Winter Reliability Assessment. The capacity auction numbers were public. The meteorological models were public. The data center demand projections were public.
Everything I told you came from documents that anyone could read. The difference is — I actually read them.
That's not prophecy. That's literacy.
But here's the part that should bother you: If a man who climbs utility poles for a living can see this coming a month out — why didn't the people who are PAID to protect the grid warn YOU?
They knew. They published the numbers. And then they waited for the storm to do what the numbers said it would do.
