A lot of people try to portray Hannibal as a gay individual but thats actually not the case. In reality, he is a lesbian mother of 4 but this detail is really subtle and you can easily see it in ep 4 s2 at 37:67 hannibal says:"ye twin i lowkey changed my gender and have 4 children feel me?"
This is never brought up again and its psychologically consistent with the idea that god has more than 1 eyes since he can see clearly. by falling in love with will the show actually tries to tell us thay he regretted changing genders and the main theme of Hannibal and the show in general is "homophobia" since it shows us the consequences of what happens when you change your gender. Thats all i had to say
