I’m currently struggling through the edit for my next video — about leaving the city and living in a village for 30 days.

I spent a month shooting it, and the footage turned out to be massive. Even after selecting the best parts, I still have 3.5 hours of footage that somehow needs to become a 10-minute video.

I’ve already been editing for a week… and I’m not even done with the intro.

I think I have a huge ego about this project. I really want to make it great. But there’s definitely a gap between my current skills and my expectations, so I have to learn while editing.

I’ve also realized I haven’t really pushed myself enough in my recent videos. I’ve always known sound design plays a huge role in storytelling, but honestly, it feels complicated. After finishing the main editing workload, I usually don’t have the energy to open another door.

But for this video, I think sound is necessary. I need it to help both you and me feel the difference between city life and village life. So I’m going to try.

Just wanted to record this feeling.

Every time I try to make a video that meets my own standard, it ALWAYS feels impossible to finish.

Let’s see where this one goes.
