🇬🇧 French collective L’Entourloop pays tribute to the golden age of sound system culture with their new single “Muffin Kings.” Known for combo tracks featuring a myriad of guests, the beatmakers crew achieves a real tour de force by bringing together no fewer than six artists on “Muffin Kings,” all recorded during the same session by Little Lion Sound & Evidence Music in Jamaica. The track features raggamuffin pioneers Danny English, Bunny General, and Hollow Point, rub-a-dub singers Echo Minott and Tristan Palmer, as well as the new generation represented by the talented Eesah. L’Entourloop’s signature hip-hop inna yardie style beat and the vocal performances of these prestigious guests make “Muffin Kings” an instant banger, which the collective performed in an unreleased version in front of an enthusiastic audience during their major European tour, set to end on November 29 at the Adidas Arena in Paris. L’Entourloop dedicates this track to Danny English, who passed away shortly after the recording, as well as to the victims of Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica

Derrick Sound – Upliftment
With Upliftment, Derrick Sound delivers a true homage to the reggae of the late 1990s and early 2000s, a pivotal period that also marked their beginnings as DJs. The project recreates the energy and atmosphere of those years, drawing inspiration from legendary producers such as Fatis Burrell and Bobby Digital.
Entirely produced by the duo, the album brings together iconic voices including Sizzla, Capleton, Lutan Fyah, Luciano, Chezidek, Jah Mason, Peetah Morgan, Turbulence, Fantan Mojah, and Brother Culture. Faithful to the spirit of that era, Upliftment carries a motivating and uplifting message, perfectly encapsulated in its title.
The cover features a photo of Mr Nico and Inspecta Derrick, taken in the early 2000s on Washington Boulevard in Kingston. While many regard the 1970s as reggae’s golden age, for Derrick Sound the early 2000s represent their own golden era — the sound and spirit that shaped their identity and to which this project pays homage.
Formed by Mr Nico and Inspecta Derrick, Derrick Sound has become a key force on the European and international scene, notably through their label Evidence Music and collaborations with reggae greats. With Upliftment, they pay tribute to the reggae heritage that shaped them while sharing it with a new generation of listeners.
