EcoKaari is a social enterprise based in Pune, India, where UPCYCLES waste plastic using Charkha and Handloom to conserve the environment and enable LIVELIHOODS for women and youth.
EcoKaari conserves the environment by upcycling single-use waste plastic, such as plastic carry bags, food wrappers for chips, biscuits, pulses, flour, etc., glittery gift wrappers, old audio and video cassette tapes, and e-commerce Plastic Packaging.
The weaving process is manual—no electricity is used—to enable livelihoods for underprivileged women and youth. Also, no chemicals or heat are used.
