It was born from a demo of DJEFF’s that found its resolution and natural home with Moullinex △ GPU Panic, who upon instantly falling in love with its demo found themselves creating new synth and vocal parts organically, with GPU Panic’s hallmark of deeply affecting vocals, coupled with their collective production prowess, elevate the track to heights which rank it among their most landmark releases to date, so much so that DJEFF has chosen it for inclusion on his upcoming new album.
“The Wave”, one of the most important releases on Discotexas ever, is out now!
A true A-team: AWEN, Moullinex △ GPU Panic, and Xinobi. And this team has crafted a true masterpiece. Written at the turn of the year, it was painstakingly improved and refined since, being played at festivals and clubs the world over, culminating in all of them performing it live for the first time together, at NOS Alive festival, in Lisbon, the city where it all began. We are thrilled to finally release the studio version of it.
AWEN and GPU Panic’s soaring vocals, in a true duet, were seemingly made for each other, perfectly soaring above the sublime production the collective has accustomed us to. “The Wave” was as effortless as it feels timeless, while simultaneously showing in its DNA the unmistakable stamps of each of its makers, it feels like a truly unique piece of music.

The Expanded Edition of Madd Rod's most recent studio album Sad Behaviour, is out now!
The album was preceded by a new single - Q Update, which delves between Dark Disco with elements from Electroclash and Industrial/Goth. The track was the last addition to the album, which soundwise proved to be a pivotal one for Madd Rod. The album and the track represent the reshaping of his sound, and a desire to challenge music genre boundaries. In the same month as the album's release, Q Update was also included on our latest compilation DTX Gathering.
A recurring theme on Sad Behaviour and a trademark of Madd Rod's sound is blending elements of nostalgia and innovation, crafting a sci-fi soundscape in the process. The Expanded Edition also features recently released track “Ausstieg” and new track “Melted Realities”.
