On January 10th or 11th, Caesar crosses the Rubicon. Read why in his own words...
"Thereupon the men of the Thirteenth Legion, which was present (he had called this out at the beginning of the disorder; the rest had not yet come together), exclaim that they are ready to repel the wrongs of their commander and of the tribunes… ‘I have always reckoned the dignity of the republic of first importance and preferable to life. I was indignant that a benefit conferred on me by the Roman people was being insolently wrested from me by my enemies, and that, robbed of my six months’ command, I was being dragged back to the city, when the people had directed that I should be allowed to be a candidate in absence at the next election. Nevertheless, for the sake of the state I have borne with equanimity this infringement of my prerogative; when I sent a dispatch to the senate proposing that all should give up arms I failed to obtain even this request. Levies are being held throughout Italy, two legions which had been filched from me under the pretence of a Parthian war are being held back, the state is in arms. To what does all this tend but to my own ruin?’" (Caes. Civ. 1.7, 1.9)
"Pompey, however, was not cowed, but bade Sulla reflect that more worshipped the rising than the setting sun, intimating that his own power was on the increase, while that of Sulla was on the wane and fading away." Plut. Pomp. 14.3
“...shall we be unmoved by the story of the recklessness of Publius Claudius in the first Punic War? Claudius merely in jest mocked at the gods: when the chickens on being released from their cage refused to feed, he ordered them to be thrown into the water, so that they would not eat they might drink; but the joke cost the jester himself many tears and the Roman people a great disaster, for the fleet was severely defeated.” Cic. Nat. D. 2.7
In the spirit of Christmas, I will let you guys decide the next "Life of" series!
Plebs, hear me, and listen carefully! Your vote will decide the fate of two great men.
The "Life of" series covers every aspect of this man's life, from his childhood to his death, that is available from the primary sources. It will be backed by research and I will try to provide for you the most accurate and factual video possible. Choose carefully! (Note, each individual will be covered eventually)
"each wrestler against the other
Anoints himself with oil and smears his hands with dust."
I would like to give you an update: I have just finished my Honors Thesis which I will post for you guys on Academia.edu asap, to be read for leisure or used for your own research. I will alert you guys in another post when it is posted.
I have begun working on the script for the next video, the First Punic War. This will be out in early January.
I am itching to start working on these videos again and will try to aim for two videos a month.

Hello Everyone!
I would like to see where your interests lies.
While I continue to work on the Life of Pompey Series, vote for who you would like to see sooner rather than later!
Note: this does not determine who will be next after Pompey Magnus.

Just realized my video The Fall of the Roman Republic - Little Dark Age was blocked worldwide, rip.
I reuploaded it over on Bitchute for those of you who may still want to watch it from time to time. It's under the same video title.
Here the link to my channel over there: www.bitchute.com/channel/xICJBSYIWyOZ/
