"Far Cry 2 - A Flawed Masterpiece" will be with you in the next few days!
According to YouTube, it's been 114 days since I last uploaded. That is way too long. I've been really busy recently moving flat, completing a professional qualitification for my day job and going to California on holiday / vacation.
Now all that's behind me, I'll be back making more content. My next video will be a bit longer, but hopefully I'll get it to you within the next 114 days...
I'm about half way through Far Cry 2 and I'm mostly loving it. It does so many things that I wish modern games did today. The open world is ground breaking for its time, just like GTA IV, and the sandbox is incredible.
But then its extremely rough around the edges. It is so stop-start at times where I'm constantly repairing my vehicle every 5 mins and there's systems that needed much more work. There's RPG style companions, but I have no idea what they actually do, other than appearing out of nowhere to revive us or give us different ways to beat a mission. Is that it?
I think this is one of those love/hate games, but right now I'm not sure where I'll land.
Oh shit, I forgot to edit the ad placements in my Far Cry vid. Annoyingly YouTube automatically puts them whenever there's a pause in narraration, which in this case meant a few punchlines to jokes were ruined. I've removed those ads and there's now just one at 9 mins ish before we move onto the Feral Powers section.

In three videos covering Far Cry Instincts Predator, Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3, we’ll look back at the old Far Cry games to see how they hold up today. We’ll see how each game evolved to create the Far Cry 3 template that Ubisoft are still using today.
