3. and their slightly more peaceful Slavic counterpart Serbia.
Then we’ll go on with several episodes on the history and fortunes of a fascinating Eastern European country: 4. Bulgaria. With its rich Medieval history, dramatic Ottoman period, warlike 20th-century campaigns and a recent Communist past, Bulgaria is an unexpected adventure for history nerds.
