Story Time 💔 – Me & Vidhi

It was the start of Class 5. I walked into the classroom, still fixing my hair, and our teacher said,
"Trishu, you’ll sit here today, Vidhi, shift next to her."

She came over with neatly tied hair, a shy smile, and said,
"Hi… I’m Vidhi."
I smiled back, "I’m Trishu."

That first day, we didn’t talk much, just swapped an eraser once. But at lunch, Vidhi turned to me and asked,
"Want to share?"
Before I could answer, she slid her tiffin towards me. Aloo paratha. And somehow, from that day, everything changed.

We became that pair, laughing in the middle of Maths, passing silly notes during Science, making up fake stories in History just to make each other giggle. We even made a secret handshake, and during free periods we’d sit under the neem tree, making plans for the “future.”
"Promise we’ll always be friends, even when we’re older," Vidhi said one day.
"Promise," I replied, without thinking twice.

But then… one afternoon, I found out.
"I’m changing schools next year," I told her quietly.
She froze. "What? No… you’re joking."
I shook my head. "I wish I was."

The last weeks of Class 5 felt strange. We still laughed, but there was a sadness behind it. Every “see you tomorrow” felt heavier, knowing there weren’t many tomorrows left.

On the final day, when the bell rang, Vidhi hugged me tightly and whispered,
"Don’t forget me, okay?"
I said, "Never." And I meant it.

We promised to call, to text, to stay the same. And we tried… but days turned into months, months into years. The calls became shorter, the texts less often, and slowly… life moved on.

Now, when I think of Class 5, I don’t remember the marks or the lessons.
I remember Vidhi, the girl who made that year unforgettable, and the day I had to walk away from our classroom for the last time.

Okay toh scene aisa tha

Boring sa din, pet mein dard out of hunger and obviously koi bhi calm nahi tha.
Dhruvi goes:
“Behen mujhe itni bhook lagi hai na, agar waiter late aaya toh usse hi kha jaungi.”
Aur Divya ussi moment pe bola:
“Tu pehle apne mood swings sambhal le, khaane ka baad mein sochenge.” 💀

Plan bana: restaurant.
Mood bana: khaane ke naam pe full item number.
Outfits: 10/10
Braincells: 1, and usse bhi confusion ho gaya menu dekh ke 😭

We entered....
Pari, as usual, shouting from behind:
“Trishu jaldi chal na, tu toh har jagah ramp walk karti hai kya?”
Me: “Shut up Pari, tu toh table tak pahuchte pahuchte thak gayi thi.” 😭

Waiter comes with menu.
Vartika: “Guys calm down, sabko order karne milega. Trishu, tu sirf fries le lena, aur koi new disease mat try karna.”
Me: “Mujhe allergy sirf tum logon se hoti hai.”

Then sabne pasta, pizza, drinks, fries order kiya like we’re Ambani’s lost kids.
Divya: “Oye Pari, tu pasta khayegi ya again 30 photos leke plate ka photoshoot karegi?”
Pari: “Tere jaise jealous logon se toh kulfi bhi melt ho jaaye.” 😤

Khair, food aaya.
Dhruvi legit screamed:
“WAIT! No one touch it. Let me do ‘aesthetic content creator reel’ first.”
Aur tab tak mera burger mujhe aankhon mein aankhon daal ke dekh raha tha 😭

After food, the BILL.
Sab ek dusre ko is nazar se dekh rahe the like
“Kaun bewakoof hai jo treat bolega?”
Vartika: “Main toh sirf tissue lene aayi thi.”
Pari: “Aur main toh sirf tum logon ke wajah se zinda hoon.”
Me (Trishu): “Bhai waiter ne toh bill diya, tum log invoice ka transfer form bharwa rahe ho.”
💀💀💀

We were ₹60 short.
Divya: “Main toh tip dene wali thi but ab toh main bartan dhulwaungi tum sabse.”
Dhruvi: “Restaurant se bahar nikaala gaya toh meri Instagram story banegi, ‘How I got banned with my bewakoof besties.’” 😂

Finally, somehow managed.
Tip: ₹2 and one dirty look from the waiter.
I swear he’ll never forget Trishu & The Tandoori Terrors™
