Junior Orange Bowl International Championships 12 to 17 December-2025

Pakistan’s young tennis stars are in Miami, Florida, representing the country at the world-renowned Junior Orange Bowl, one of the most prestigious global junior tennis competitions.

Shayan Afridi earned direct entry into the 12&under main draw, while Rashid Ali secured a main-draw wildcard from the Asian Tennis Federation for his outstanding year-round performances.

Their journey began with Pakistan’s victory at the Asian 12&under Team Championship (May 2025), followed by a 6th-place finish at the Asian Finals in Singapore and 5th place at the Intercontinental Finals in Kazakhstan-achievements that paved the way to this elite event.

In addition, rising Pakistani talent Mikaeel Ali Baig is also in Florida competing in the 16&under category, having earned his place through exceptional results throughout the 2025 season.

PTF President Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi expressed immense pride:

“Three Pakistani players are participating this year for the first time in this prestigious event, which is a great honour. I competed here in 1997, and it is heartening to see our young players carry the national flag forward. I am hopeful they will make the nation proud.”

Mr. Aisam thanked the US Consulate General–Lahore for issuing visas on a short time and the BARD Foundation for sponsoring the trip, and appreciated the Asian Tennis Federation for granting Rashid Ali the main-draw wildcard.

The PTF Secretary-General extended best wishes, saying that competing at the Junior Orange Bowl is a remarkable achievement and expressing full confidence in the players’ performances.

Junior Orange Bowl International Championships -USA 2025

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) is proud to announce that Pakistan’s emerging tennis star Mikaeel Ali Baig delivered an exceptional performance at the prestigious Junior Orange Bowl International Championships 2025 in the USA-widely regarded as the Grand Slam of junior tennis.

Competing in the highly competitive Boys 16 & under category, Mikaeel advanced to the singles quarterfinals and the doubles semifinals, marking one of the strongest international performances by a Pakistani junior player on one of the world’s premier junior tennis stages.

This achievement makes Mikaeel the first Pakistani player since Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi (1997–98) to reach the quarterfinal and semifinal stages at this elite global event-an extraordinary milestone in the history of Pakistan tennis.

Boys Singles Quarterfinals:
Malacek Daniel (USA) beat Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK) 3-6,6-1,6-3

Boys Doubles Quarterfinals:
Mikaeel Ali Baig (PAK) / Atticus Kim (USA) beat Malacek Daniel (USA) / Minvielle Charles( USA) 7-5,6-4

Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President-PTF congratulated Mikaeel on this outstanding accomplishment, stating:This is an amazing achievement and a great honour for Pakistan and for this young talent. Davis Cup Pakistan vs Paraguay -2025

The Pakistan Davis Cup team has arrived in Asuncion, Paraguay, ahead of their World Group-II Davis Cup tie against Paraguay, scheduled to be held on 12th and 13th September 2025.

The team reached Paraguay on 7th September 2025, following an intensive preparation phase that included a 20-day training camp at the PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad, and a 4-day training camp at the Inventist Tennis Academy, Istanbul, Turkey.

The Pakistan squad for the tie comprises:

Thanksgiving Reception in Honour of Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President PTF, was organised by Shahzada Jamal Nazir

A Thanksgiving reception was hosted by Shahzada Jamal Nazir and Shahzada Ahmed Jamal to express solidarity with Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), on 27th June, 2025, at PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad, following the Islamabad High Court’s decision in favour of the PTF elections.

Shahzada Jamal Nazir emphasised that we are giving Thanksgiving luncheon for the Blessings of Allah in our daily lives; and that we are blessed to be the followers of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ He said that today is 1st Muharram al Haram, and we should never forget the sacrifices of shuda e karbala. He prayed for Allah’s guidance in our practical lives and for the successful tenure of Aisam ul Haq Qureshi.

The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering of dignitaries, tennis officials, and community leaders, including: Shahzada Jamal Nazir – Former Federal Minister,Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi –President-PTF, Shahzada Ahmad Jamal Nazir, Raja Amir Zaman – Former Federal Minister, Mian Sahib – Former Provincial Minister, Major Suleman Junaid – Senior Executive Vice President, PTF,Mr. Khawaja Suhail – Senior Vice President, PTF, Mr. Saeed Ahmad Khan Senior Vice President, PTF Dr. Muhammad Tahir – President, Pakistan Senior Tennis Association, Mr. Mumtaz Yousaf – President, Balochistan Tennis Association, Mr. Umar Ayaz Khalil – Senior Vice President, KP Tennis Association, Madam Zaira Ahmad Zaka Vice President, PTF, Col. The event was also attended by a large number of coaches, players, and members of Nusrat Islam, a social and welfare organisation. Their presence reflected a collective show of unity and strong support for the leadership of Mr. Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and the future of tennis in Pakistan.

The gathering concluded by thanking the Almighty Allah for His countless Blessing, and prayer for unity to work collectively for the betterment of tennis in Pakistan.
