I am a nurse with a passion for horses, photography and pasture management. I am also trying my hand at being a YouTuber. I used to compete in Reining and Ranch on my QH, Max at local shows. Then were transitioned to Cowboy dressage for a few years and recently dabbled in Working Equitation. Max and I had a very successful career, winning Champion Open at most shows and High Point of the year in Ranch. We have travelled far to compete.
I recently purchased an Iberian x Gypsy with training in Dressage.
It takes a lot of courage to step out of your comfort zone into a completely new discipline, especially dressage as a larger woman having to wear tights. But that is what we are working towards - the dreaded white joddies.
I feel like someone who has a university degree in Reining, Ranch and Cowboy Dressage that has gone back to preschool in English riding, but it's all part of the fun.
Shalico competed in Cowboy Dressage for the first time in May and we came out with Reserve Open Champion for his first time. I've only had him since mid February, so everything for me and him is a bit new, I've never done dressage, he's never done western or trail riding.
I also do a lot of trail riding to keep me and the horses ride fit. I enjoy coaching and mentoring riders to feel comfortable and safe in new environments and on new horses. This is of utmost importance as I was once a very confident rider until an accident 2 years ago. I have had to start over and re build that confidence as a middle aged rider who doesn't bounce anymore and to add some spice - on a new horse.
I have a bunch of close friends that I ride with every weekend and we support each other in our varying disciplines.
Some of my past history is, I used to be a Clydesdale breeder and compete in Led in showing. My original mare is still with me and going on 25 yo. I've also studied Equine nursing and equine nutrition and I have a Pasture management business. I was one of the first equine photographers in the area many years ago and still occasionally photograph events. I achieved Level 1 Cowboy Dressage Clinician by earning a score of more than 74% in a Cowboy Dressage test plus some other requirement, this was one of my proudest achievements.

Hello Subscribers,
Here is an update of what is coming soon.
I have a variety of videos coming up over the next month including saddle restoration. This is the first time I have attempted anything like this. I'm still finishing it off so I can't comment of if it was successful or not 😌
I have a couple more trail ride videos plus some groundwork and an overview of the tack I use. In the coming months, I'll also be introducing Max and telling his story and doing a in depth look at the local trails we ride.
Life has been a bit busy with working 3 jobs, so there hasn't been much riding the last few weeks. Hopefully I can find time to start living more of the horse life rather than just mucking yards every day.
Let me know if there is something you want to see and I'll see what I can do.
That's is for now
