So....some news today that I didn't want to have to say.

Sadly, my old workhorse of a laptop, the spitfire, finally seems to have kicked the bucket. It seems to be some form of problem with the latest windows update but it has completely shit itself and cannot even be booted up anymore. I AM hoping that it is software rather than hardware as I can't really afford to replace it at the moment.

I will be taking it to the computer repair shop soon to see if there is anything that can be done to get it back up and running. I do suspect that it will mean a factory reset and complete wipe of everything from it. That includes train simulator.

Thankfully I backed up everything not too long ago so at least I can start again. To be fair I think it has needed a good factory reset for a while now.

But until this issue is sorted out, im afraid ill be out of action in terms of live streams.

I'm sorry guys. I hope it won't take too long. I am in the process of putting money aside for a new desktop PC build, the current amount stands at about £900 at the moment. This would have been double though until last week when I suffered some significant car repairs and had to use it for that.....

Can't say that it's been a very good few weeks but there we go.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who turned up and donated to the SVR Resilience fund this evening. All in all, we made about £110 (Approximately) to be donated to the fund :)

Very sorry to hear the news this morning of the passing of Britt Allcroft. (1943 - 2025).

Among other TV shows, she is most well remembered for Bringing thomas the tank engine to the TV screen in the 1980s. This had a huge impact on my childhood.

Thank you for the memories Britt. Rest in peace.

Angry Welshman Productions

Hello everyone, it is new years eve here in the UK, and I thought it was about time to give you guys a little update about what has been happening in the world of Angry Welshman Productions this year. I am in a surprisingly good mood considering how exhausted that I am after spending christmas with 2 very excited little boys! (YES, ITS F**KING EXHAUSTING).

But I am bouncing around on my chair whilst listening to James' Jazzy theme, from the Thomas Reorchestrated Sodor Symphony album, so, without any more stalling, LETS BEGIN!

On the surface, it would appear to not be an awful lot (Only 3 videos and 4 live streams….wow thats not much, I didnt realise it was so bad :(), but a lot has been happening in the background. I was hoping to create a Christmas day video update just like I did last year, but unfortunately the run up to christmas was just so busy for me I wasnt able to find the time to make it.

This year was particularly busy for me work wise. We are down on pilot numbers and we have all had to "Muck in" and keep the ships moving in and out of our ports. Whilst we have recruited new pilots, it obviously takes time before they are trained and ready to go, so until that time, work will continue to be busy. I achieved a promotion this year, and I am already training for the next one.

Basically, 2023 has been the year of Commissions. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Dane Forth, at 4ths Games, for being so amenable, and cooperative in the face of all of my random requests for Commissions.

This year, we have seen the following assets created for use in Over the hills.

The Heavy Haulage Truck assets.
The Llandeerdog district fire engine assets.
Locomotive restoration tent asset.
Office interiors & Office interior assets.
Movie making assets (Camera, wooden mounting stand).
Church Interior and Church Pew Assets.

The creation of these assets has really thrown a curveball to us here as we write the scripts, as each time an asset has been made, new and exciting opportunities to write them into stories have been emerging and the overall story ark has been changed significantly, and most definitely for the better!

We do have a few more assets planned to be made by Dane in the coming months, but for now my wallet needs a chance to recover!!! Commissioning assets is expensive!!!

In addition to these physical assets, we have also seen Jordan at Jordans Railway Simulator working away on many different projects for AWP. Most of these are Name Plates and locomotive scripting to attach faces to locomotives. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Jordan for his hard work this year.

Unfortunately, with regards to the "Other" commission, which was the locomotive commission of GWR 813 from Caledonia works, as you have probably seen in my recent posts, this commission has been cancelled. Whilst this decision was very disappointing and upsetting for me, I understand the reasons why. I cannot go into the details about this, but all will be revealed in time.

Fortunately, Kris has decided that he will create an alternative locomotive of my choice as his next locomotive after making the GWR 43xx Mogul. So, in the spirit of democracy, lets go "INTO THE FIRE".....Sorry, (Yes, we saw Sabaton live this year at Cardiff and I am STILL Buzzing from it, and I cant wait to see them live again when they tour again).

Anyway what the frig was I talking about? Oh yes, the commission from CW. Well, the decision as voted for by you all, was to instead create a brand new GWR 56xx pack for train simulator. I have to say, I was very surprised that this engine received such a high number of votes for a remake. The Victory works one has been around for a long time now, and it really was my favourite locomotive to drive for several years after it was released.

But that was over a decade ago now, and time really has moved on with regards to the quality of locos being made for train simulator. It is a real shame that VW never took the opportunity to re examine that pack ,but it is what it is. This locomotive will be very much appreciated by the GWR Fans of train simulator, and will be a fantastic addition to Ben Salters "Vale of Neath" route.

As 813 was planned to heavily feature in Over the hills, and obviously this has been cancelled, an alternate loco has been planned to feature in its place. I had this locomotive on standby for a while now, as I wasnt entirely sure where I would introduce it to the series, but I had always planned that if anything happened to the 813 commission, that this would take its place. Good thing I planned ahead eh 😛

It is of course the GWR Buffalo tank engine as created by Joel Tonks and Ben (AKA Mr. Dexby from TONW and RTR). She is an absolutely stunning little engine and will now heavily feature as a main character in the series. This will obviously provide a bit of a challenge to create a convincing back story of how the engine came to be preserved, but lets see how it goes :P

Sam at @Blastpipeproductions has been chipping away at his Castlemoor colliery route, and this is important because it will feature in over the hills when it is completed.

I have also been working away on the scripts as and when, as well as working on face scripting myself for various locomotives that will feature either in Over the hills, or in other videos I am planning.

Whilst this year we havent achieved as much video or live streaming content as I would have liked to, we have achieved a good few live streams.

In August, we conducted a charity live stream and drove 6024 King Edward I From London Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverley, a live stream that took us more than 8 hours to do! But the fantastic part of this was the fact that we raised over £2000 for the Railway Children Charity. This feat alone fills me with pride as we end this year. Given the Success of this event, I believe we may try again next year but with a different locomotive and a different route. But time will tell! (Cough, maybe London Paddington to Penzance with the BMG Castle class?).

So, the last bit of news for you? Over the hills will return in 2024.

Yes, you read that correctly. I have had a bit of a change of heart over the last six months, and that is quite simply, that this project has become so large, it is just not realistic to get everything written and filmed before releasing it in one go. Also, as this year has proved, it just means that time is marching on, and no progress is being made towards that achieving goal.

I know this is a complete 180 turn from what I have announced previously, and I know that I am prone to those sorts of decisions. I cannot tell you exactly when in 2024 that the first episode will be uploaded, but it will be advertised and patreons will indeed be given early access to the episode.

The script is in a very good place, and is being finalised and made ready for voice acting. I am not rushing to get this done as I want it to be as good as I can, but yes, its very nearly time to begin hunting for voice actors XD. (DMS Are about to take a pounding).... Just be patient guys. There will be a recruitment and auditioning process involved in this.

And so I end this new year statement by wishing you all, a very happy, and prosperous new year.

Lets make 2024 the return of AWP to youtube.

(As Ive written this section, Ive been listening to "Calon Lan" as sung by the Black Mountain Male Voice Choir at full blast, and am feeling rather patriotic right now :P

@(Announcements) Im really sorry guys, but weve had to abandon this evenings live stream. There is a problem with my internet connection, workers have been digging up the roads for the last few weeks upgrading the internet cables in the area and the reliability of the connection has been sketchy at times. But tonight this, combined with the foul weather is just causing the stream quality to be really poor, and far below our usual standard which just isnt acceptable.

I am really sorry about this guys. I was hoping the issue could be resolved but it cant. :(

We will reschedule this and try again in the next few weeks.

Thank you everyone.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to drop a little note this evening to tell you all that todays charity livestream managed to raise grand total of £2,100.96 for the Railway Children charity, through both direct donations to the just giving page (£2007.00), and via "Superchats" on youtube (£93.96).

Considering that I originally set the goal of raising £500 (And even then I thought this was ambitious...), I am blown away by everyone's generosity today.

I would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated and contributed, as well as gave up their time to either share & raise awareness, created items to be used in the stream, or gave their products to be used.

Thank you everyone, I feel like we have all made a real difference today, and you never know, maybe we have even helped to save a life.

Join Angry Welshman Productions, and Sam of Blast Pipe Productions, tomorrow morning (Saturday 12th August 2023) at 0845 (UK time), and periodically Michael of RailAdvent, as they climb onboard the footplate of No.6024 "King Edward I" for what promises to be by far the longest shift we've done ever in train simulator. We will be running along the entire length of the East Coast Main Line, from London Kings Cross, to Edinburgh Waverley, a journey of just under 400 miles.

Today, we are livestreaming to raise a target of £500 towards The Railway Children Charity, and please if you can donate anything, head on over to the Just Giving page and make a donation today.

We have already raised £234 before we've even started! All money raised will be donated directly to "The Railway Children" through the Just giving page.
www.justgiving.com/page/angry-welshman-productions

Livestream donations, also known as "superchats", will also be donated to the Justgiving page by myself once the stream is finished, however I strongly urge you to donate directly to the just giving page if you can, because otherwise youtube takes a cut before the money comes to me:
