The Paddy field of Tigolwela, 1810. (Based on 3D technology)
"Tigolwela": The Paddy field existed before the construction of Kandy Lake by King Sri Wikrama Rajasinghe between 1810-1812. Admiral Spielbergen, a Dutch national who arrived in Kandy in 1605, noted the existence of a paddy field with long lines of writing in the city at that time. Prior to the construction of Kandy Lake, the reservoir in the city was Bogambara Lake, as mentioned in Mandarampura Puwatha and historical poems.

ශ්රි වික්රම රාජසිංහ රජතුමා විසින් 1810 -1812 අතර කාලයේදි කරවූ නුවර වැව ඉදිකිරීමට පෙර එහි තිබී ඇත්තේ "ටිගොල්වෙල" වෙල් යාය වේ. එය දිගු ලියදි පේළි සහිත කුඹුරු යායක් ලෙස එකල නගරයේ පැවති බව 1605 දී මහනුවරට පැමිණි ලන්දේසි ජාතික අද්මිරාල් ස්පීල්බර්ජන් සඳහන්කර තිබේ. නුවර වැව ඉදිකිරීමට පෙර නගරයේ තිබූ ජලාශය වූයේ බෝගම්මබර වැවයි. ඒ බව මන්දාරම්පුර පුවත ඉතිහාස කාව්යයේ ද සදහන් වේ.
මෙම නිර්මාණය සිදුකර එවා තිබුණේ - ඉන්දුල ජයසේකර විසිනි.
