Okay, I already know some people are going to say, "You're just saying this because you're a Blink." No. I'm saying this because I've actually looked into it.

BLACKPINK is getting hate over something from around 12 years ago, when they were trainees—not the artists they are today.

In the K-pop trainee system, monthly evaluations are a real thing. Trainees are often assigned songs by the company, and they're expected to perform the lyrics as given. They usually don't get to choose the song, and changing the lyrics may not be an option.

Does that make saying a racial slur okay? No. I know it's wrong. But I also don't think it's fair to hate someone for something they may have been expected or pressured to say as trainees with little to no choice.

I've also seen people ask, "Then why did Rosé change the lyrics when she performed the song on TV?" Public broadcasts have different standards, and companies often require lyrics to be changed for television. That's a completely different situation.

I'm not asking anyone to ignore racism or blindly defend their favorite idols. I'm just saying context matters, and people should look at the full picture before judging.

And please stop dragging other idols just to defend your own favorites. Two wrongs don't make a right.
