Welcome to Christina Chan Makes. 🎹🌿

I’m Christina, and this is a space dedicated to the art of the Nurtured Life.

After years of sharing recipes as Mrs5cookbook, I realized a truly creative life isn't just about what’s on the plate—it’s about the rhythm of the entire home. Here, we explore the intersection of Kitchen, Music, Plants, and Movement.

What to expect here:

👩🏻‍🍳The Kitchen: Intentional, "slow" recipes and kitchen organization to help you find your culinary flow.
🎹The Music: Original piano compositions and the soundtrack to a creative life.
🌿The Plants: Nurturing indoor gardens and bringing nature into the heart of the home.
🧘🏻‍♀️The Movement: Finding balance through yoga and mindful practice.

This is a community for the makers, the dreamers, and those seeking to romanticize everyday. ✨

I’ve been quieter this year—and I owe you a little context. 🕯️📚

If you’ve noticed I didn’t post as much in 2025, it’s not because I disappeared. I’ve been in a building season.
Between my government job, teaching piano, and regular life (meals, errands, the never-ending “what’s for dinner?”), I took on something huge for me:

I wrote my first book. ✍️
And honestly… adult life can be a lot sometimes. The juggle is real, the to-do lists are loud, and it’s so easy to feel like you’re always behind.

But this year taught me something I’m taking with me:
we don’t have to push through everything with stress. We can soften. We can breathe. We can take things one steady step at a time.

So I chose my craft and my peace over being “online” all the time—and it’s been the most grounding kind of growth.
Before we step into 2026, I want to hear from you:
What did you build in 2025—or what did you let go of?
And what’s one intention you’re bringing into the new year?

I’ve missed chatting with you. I’ll be in the comments. 👇

Hey foodie fam!

It's been a hot minute, huh? 🙋🏻‍♀️

I know, I know, I've been MIA. Life has thrown me some curveballs lately – ups, downs, and everything in between. But I wanted to take a quick sec to say a massive THANK YOU for sticking around. Your support means the world to me! 🥹💓

So, what’s been going on? Well, work has been keeping me busy with a recent promotion and adjusted hours. On the home front, my mom’s health has been a rollercoaster, but thankfully, things are looking up. My hubby also landed a new job, so we’re navigating that new normal. And on a personal note, I'm still dealing with some health stuff, but I'm determined to figure it out. 🙌🏻

Don't worry, I'm not disappearing completely! I'll still be sharing recipes whenever I can, just at a slower pace. 🐢

Thanks for being here! Can’t wait to reconnect with you all. ❤️

During my recovery at home, I found solace in tending to my plants and herb garden, nurturing them with care. The fresh herbs became the heart of my latest recipe video, and I'm so grateful for your support and encouragement.

If you try the recipe, consider pairing it with pasta or rice—the sauce is simply divine! It's been my nourishment lately, as recommended by the nurses for its protein richness.

Thank you for being part of my journey. Take care until next time, and stay blessed!
